Brief Biography: Jacqueline Song was born on September 8, 1978 to a middle-class family in South Bend, Indiana. She attended UCLA for her undergraduate education and later Yale for her graduate law degree. She took up a job in Manhattan after graduation, working as an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell until 1999. Jacqueline returned to her home state in 1999 to work as a clerk in the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit until eventually leaving in 2003 to work in the office of the District Attorney. In 2005, Jacqueline ran to serve as District Attorney of Indianapolis. After proving successful there, she was elected to the State Senate four years later and served until being elected Attorney General in the 2012 general election. Jacqueline is known to be a relatively moderate Democrat, as her parents are considerably conservative and religious.
