| Welcome to the Star Trek: Voyager message board RPG! We're a small, laid-back RPG that's been around since May 2005. You can read and enjoy our stories as a guest, but we'd love it if you joined and participated too. If you'd like to join, read this thread about how to get started and follow the steps in the first post. We hope to see you around the boards! |

With all of the officers working together, they were able to cobble together a very makeshift working transporter. Now all that remained was to find a way to target it back to Voyager's proper location without beaming them into space, or some other universe entirely. Janeway eyed the local RPGers. One of them would have to learn to operate a Starfleet transporter in a very short amount of time, and then be trusted with the lives of her crew. "Do any of you have engineering experience?" "My husband does," said Phantom, "but he's still in the United States." |

Alina raised her hand. "I just finished my computer science major. We learn Electrical Engineering as a part of that. I also have some amateur Mech engineering experience." She gestured towards Phantom. "Also, if we needed to go get your husband, my brother, JC, is in the car outside. He's a pilot. To celebrate my graduation and him earning his license last year, we've been hopping all over europe in his instructor's old cessna." |
![]() Kryslynn DiCaprio Race: Half Kirian, Half Human Kirians The Kirian Race is a species I created. They're from the M Class Planet, Rianika and have an extra marker in the blood known as Luminol, giving off a glow. Kirians are also Neophasic. They can pass through solid objects except for dense metals or biomatter. Adrenaline in the system nullifies that rule. | |

Jason raised his hand, "I'm generally pretty good at picking up new software quickly..." He didn't mention the fact that he'd worked out how the Enterprise-D helm worked... |

Janeway arched an eyebrow. That was better than she'd hoped. But then, Lieutenant DiCaprio was a capable engineer; perhaps it only made sense that her creator would be one as well. "Good," she told the group as a whole. "There's no time for another trip across the ocean, but we'll work with what we have." She gestured to Alina and Jason. "Work with DiCaprio, Murphy, and Terak. They'll show you how all of this works. I don't need to stress that this technology does not belong in your timeline, and so we need to keep the functionality explanations to a minimum. You'll get the operation side only." |

OOC: Up to you in my case, I could see where it might add to it, but I could also see where it might drag things out a bit more. I don't really have a preference on it so you could go either way. |

ooc: Since it's December and that's typically a low activity month, we'll skip it. ![]() ic: After hours of laborious training montages, Jason and Alina had enough of an understanding of the transporter's operation to beam everyone back. Whether this setup could do that without killing everyone remained to be seen. There was also the problem of how to pinpoint the right destination. Janeway found Murphy and Jaden where they were working. "Any progress with the targeting sensors?" |

"A little, but I have bad news... we're going to need a phase discriminator to differentiate the temporal and spacial fractures", he said. He pulled a rubber chicken out of the frame and held it up to janeway, "and this, most definitely will not work". |

ooc: Lol! ic: Everyone gave puzzled glances to the superfan, who was now eating a slice of the pizza Phantom had gone to retrieve an hour or so earlier. Janeway did not take the chicken and had a very hard time maintaining a presence of authority and decorum in the face of this moment. "Set that aside, Ensign. Do you have what you'd need here to build a phase discriminator?" "If you don't," said Phantom, looking up from the superfan's computer, "you can probably find what you need at any given research facility nearby. Or order one on the internet. Look:" https://www.anaren.com/sites/default/files/Part-Datasheets/20756a.pdf Janeway blinked. "Did you write this technology into your timeline?" "No. We're smarter than you all seem to think. We're not just using rocks and sticks, y'know." Y'know. Janeway could not believe this person was supposed to have been writing her actions for the past several years. |

Jaden tossed the rubber chicken aside, "I think so, the only thing I can't seem to find is a modulator coil... anyone seen one of those? Maybe with a rubber snake?" He said jokingly. |

NPC Superfan All he was sure of right now was that this pizza was real and that everything else wasn't. He intended to drive himself down to the hospital after they left, if they left... Suddenly everyone was looking at him and he noticed the chicken. "Aye, I were wonderin' were old Bessie got herself too!" Edited by Scott Archer, Dec 3 2015, 05:00 AM.
