Jason couldn't believe they were going through with this. "Are you sure you can fly a plane?" Scott shrugged. "I can fly a fighter, how different can it be?" Jason was silenty worried, he imagined a 21st century Cessna 172 could be very different to an advanced late 24th century fighter... In fact he doubted the Cessna would make it all the way to America... But Scott seemed determined, he only hoped his new found friend didn't end up killing them both... Before he had a chance to say anything else, Scott walked out purposely onto the airport strip and over to a man standing by their target... The rest was a blur for Jason but before he knew it, he and Scott were in the small plane and heading out over the sea from Blackpool. Hopefully he'd wake up in a minute to find all this was some bizare dream... |

ooc: Did ... did Scott just steal an airplane? ![]() ic: "I hope everybody's able to get here safely," Phantom said, watching a tourist group wander past. "Without doing anything nuts." Janeway glanced at her. "I thought you knew these people." "Well, yeah, on the internet. But some of us are a little crazy." She thought of Nth who, last time, had wound up in an insane asylum after kinda-kidnapping Harry Kim. Best not to mention that to Janeway. |

OOC: Maybe... ![]() Jason was right... This was it... Of all the ways to die, with a guy you played on a forum on a one engine plane 200 miles west of Ireland... This couldn't be happening... Scott tried to level the Cessna off and glide with it, he was succeeding... For now. There was no way they could make it to America like this and it was doubtful they could make it back to Ireland... "Any suggestions Jason?" "I told you it wouldn't make it... I told you!" he whimpered miserably, what a way to go... Scott was echoing Jason with his own thoughts, after all that he'd been through he was going to die in the 21st century... Suddenly he had an idea. "Wait, the forum thing? Didn't you write a story like this before?" Jason looked up. "Yeah, well the others did. I wasn't part of the forums then. I read it though." Scott thought again for a second, realised the plane was about to go into a nose dive and he managed to level it off, significantly close to the ground however. Or water rather... Gravity and water was rarely a problem in space. "Couldn't you just write and say we got there?" Jason shook his head. "No, the story has to make sense." Not that this one does... "Ok, so you can't magic us there. What about...." All of a sudden an alarm went off. "We just stalled... Entering a nose dive... Jason write us in more fuel! Quickly!" The plane tipped forward and started falling towards the massive ocean below. Edited by Scott Archer, Aug 3 2015, 06:18 AM.

It had taken Ensign Murphy a long time to convince Tom to get a flight to New York. And then there was the process of getting money to pay for said flight, which was trying considering Tom's student budget. He eyed the costumes they had had to wear with a sense of distrust and embarrassment. He didn't really want to go into what they had done to get enough money. Finally, they had managed to make their way to the designated meeting point, and Murphy breathed a sigh of relief as he saw the Captain and some other person he didn't know. His relief was short-lived however when Tom blurted out his next statement. "Oh. My. God." He exclaimed, looking at Janeway with a sense of reverence. "It's Red from Orange is the New Black!" He grinned widely and stared expectantly at her, as if expecting some prison story. Ensign Murphy facepalmed heavily. |

As the plane nose dived and delivered it's occupants to almost certain doom, Scott suddenly realised the plane had two fuel tanks and flicked a switch to put them onto a full tank. Meanwhile Jason remembered putting three spare jerry cans of fuel in the back of the cockpit. He went off the refuel the first tank whilst Scott levelled out the Cessna. "I can't believe I forgot about the spare tank" Scott grumbled, his negligence had almost killed them... For all he knew that could strand the others here as well. Jason smiled and passed his phone to Scott, the post detailed exactly how they'd just saved the plane. Edited by Scott Archer, Aug 4 2015, 03:46 AM.

ooc: You guys crack me up! ![]() ic: Janeway felt the knot in her shoulders relax slightly as Murphy approached, along with a young man she presumed was his, er, writer. Hopefully the other crew members would be able to make it here safely as well, and they could get out of this mess. She then noticed Murphy's companion staring at her in a fit of excitement, and grew uncomfortable again. "Ensign," she said to Murphy, electing to avoid the issue of mistaken identity, "good to see you made it. Did you see anyone else from the ship?" Meanwhile, Phantom awkwardly waved at Tom. "Um, hi. That's not Kate Mulgrew. That's Janeway. I guess you're Thomas? Not that Thomas--" She pointed at Murphy. "--but the Thomas from the board? Although, you created his character, so maybe you are the same person?" She then blushed a deep crimson and muttered, "This is why I only hang out with people virtually." |

"You too, ma'am" Ensign Murphy responded. He shook his head. "I'm afraid I haven't seen anyone else. Are we still waiting on Lieutenant Archer?" Tom looked incredulously at Phantom. "Don't be silly! I mean, as much as we would all wish it, Captain Janeway doesn't ACTUALLY exist!" He peered at Janeway again. "I guess you must have just found an amazing lookalike like I did. See?" He gestured towards Ensign Murphy. "Looks exactly like him! Even got the whole cosplay thing going on!" He smiled at the assembled people. "Shame really, would have been awesome to meet Red..." He trailed off with a sense of disappointment. "Oh. Yeah. Thomas." He pointed to himself. "Thomas." He waved to Ensign Murphy who seemed very exasperated by this point. |

OOC: We're still about 2800 miles away lol... Also is it just the three of us? Kim and Gallagher were still on Voyager weren't they? And has Seven seen the forums yet with the agreed meeting place? |

ooc: You can make time go whoosh so you arrive sooner. I think Kim and Gallagher were on Voyager, but Seven ought to be here with us soon. ic: Phantom shook her head. "No, this is really them. Remember the story we talked about on the board where the crew showed up in Los Angeles? That, uh, that really happened. I know I sound crazy right now, but it's true." Janeway nodded at Thomas. "Hopefully everyone saw the message and is on their way here. Once we've found everyone, we can find a way to make contact with the ship." |

*4 hours later* Scott looked at Jason blankly. "Well the good news is we're there and have clearance to land... The bad news is, I have no idea how to land something without landing thrusters..." Jason shook his head. "Let me try, I've landed a Cessna before." In a game and once in every 10 attempts... But hey how hard could it be? Scott flicked a switch on the dashboard, giving the co-pilot, in this case Jason, control. Jason tried the foot pedals and accidentally wobbled the plane from side to side. "I thought you knew how to land this? I've got us lined up, you just need to land!" Jason nodded and grabbed the steering yoke in front of him, New York JFK airport was coming up fast... He angled the nose down and pulled a lever, which he hoped was for the flaps, and started to decrease the throttle... He knew vaguely what he was supposed to do, the only problem now was doing it... As the plane came down, he applied full flaps and watched the speed indicator slowly decrease. He brought the throttle down to 40%. He may actually get on the runway! Then the plane came down and jumped straight back up again. He managed to pull the nose up to the right position and killed the throttle altogether, the plane came down with another thump before jumping up again. This repeated twice more before all three wheels made solid contact with the runway and the Cessna started to slow down. Jason applied the brakes and the plane eventually came to a complete rest. This is JFK control 1 to Cessna FY-900. Please taxi off the runway down taxiway Romeo, onto taxiway Sierra. We'll give further instructions from there. Welcome to New York. Jason released the break and increased the throttle to 10% allowing the plane to roll along the runway. Luckily, Romeo was the first taxiway they came to. Scott used the foot pedals to direct the plane down that way. They were off the runway. Soon the Cessna was stopped in place and they were off. Now the run part... Security, Jason had a passport but Scott didn't and neither of them had a visa. Edited by Scott Archer, Aug 5 2015, 05:57 AM.

Scott looked at Jason and Jason looked at Scott. "Rey?" Said Jason looking at Scott. The plan was to pretend they didn't speak a word of English and use Bajoran so that it would be impossible to find a translator. "Eka rana Sulik." Scott replied.
