Janeway and Phantom slipped quickly through the door, and were almost immediately stopped by the people crammed up against the wall. Chaim had to do some bizarre yoga-like movements to even bend down to retrieve his commbadge... why it was off was anyone's guess. Everyone's attention was fixed on the stage at the front, which was fortunate, Phantom reflected. If they had seen Captain Janeway come through the door while Kate Mulgrew was currently on the stage, that would have gotten very awkward very fast. As it was, they had a big enough problem with trying to get Tuvok and Harry off the stage without arousing suspicion.

In a desperate mood (he may resent the word but there was hardly another explanation for it) Tuvok grabbed Harry's hand. For a moment it looked like the two were to begin a tap dance routine. He could see Janeway at the now open exit door.

"I am sorry," he blurted into the microphone, "But our Captain is calling for is to beam down from the stage and we have to oblige, as you all know."
In an order to be funny he tapped at the microphone several times and eventually shouted "Beam us down, Kathy!"

With these words, he and Harry took a bow. He glanced up while doing so and thought that Janeway's figure was close to collapsing. He only could not find out if we she was fainting or laughing. A moment later, he dragged Harry off stage. The crowd was too spellbound to catch on them for autographs and shakehands. Never had a Vulcan impersonator emitted such excitement, so they stepped aside and the two officers rushed out under thunderous applause.

Being out of the main hall, he took all his strength and ordered the bystanding fans to "close the bulkhead" which they absolutely loved to do.

Phantom, Janeway and Chaim began quietly making their way across the hall toward the door Harry and Tuvok had just left through.

Tuvok and Harry actually found a quiet place outside (next to the maountains of garbage in the backyard) and waited there until the others catched up (while Tuvok was suffering from the smell).

Everything went so fast. Harry barely registered the Vulcan grabbing his hand and dragging him offstage through the throng of spectators and out into the hallway where they exited the building into a pile of trash! He was out of breath but his gaze fell on Tuvok's crunched up face.

"Wh-what's the...matter, Tuvok?" he asked between gasps for air. He himself was not having any issues with any odors.

"We escaped the most fearful species I encountered in my life," Tuvok explained: "Our fans!"

Tuvok gave Chaim a look that may remind someone old enough (couple of thousand years) of the age when Vulcans were wild, maniac creatures almost killing their own species from the surface of Vulcan.

"Our fans, Lt., our fans - or better fans of the people who look like us and play us in a TV series, whatever that is."

The fan experience definitely affected Tuvok. He might look the Borg Queen into the eye without hesitation, but being impersonated some hundreds of years in Earth's past was heavy compromising for (to?) the Vulcan ego. He did have the time earlier to check out that most private information about his personal and (7-year-) love life had been broadcasted for entertainment; he sure was to have a word with Phantom later on. But first - he turned to her and asked:

"That, Phantom, failed. We still are out of money to pay the bus ride back to your home. Any suggestions?"

"Not really is not the answer I expect from a starfleet officer!" Tuvok quipped and he seemed deadly serious. There was no denying that if these archaic times were home to someone who would understand federation like living in the 24th century, then it was Phantom. So Tuvok put the highest measures on her; he just wasn't sure if the Captain would step in between.

Harry scrunched up his nose because the repulsive smell of garbage no doubt decaying and putrefying in the dumpster next to which they stood was now drifting towards them.

"Uh, can we continue this conversation elsewhere?" he asked with as much courtesy and politeness he could muster while trying not to smell the raunchiness of the trash.

Tuvok nodded.
"Across the street is a smallish park. Let's move there!" he said.

Phantom was perturbed by Tuvok's expectations. They were from the future, had advanced technology, and yet for some reason it was up to her to think of a way to get across California? Unfair.

As they crossed the street to the park, a very familiar vehicle approached and slowed to a stop. "No way..." Phantom whispered.

The car pulled up to a nearby parking space, and Faëlon stepped out. With an excited look on his face, he cried "Phantom!" and dashed over to her and embraced her. "What are you doing here? And why wasn't I invited to the Sactown cosplay party?"
