Thinking furiously, Faelon wracked his mind for any possible way to have access to a communication array.

"Well...the best idea would probably be to go to a local university...I have some colleagues at Sacramento State University, so perhpas if we turn around and head back to Sac, we might be able to fool the cops into thinking that we're headed for the medical center, and then we could lose them and head to the physics department and pray that my friends can break us into the communcations lab..."

The idea sounded ridiculous and suicidal, but it was the only one he had. He continued to drive south and wondered how they were going to get out of this, and avoid the Governator's cops.

"Wait, that's it...it's Arnold's cops chasing us, right? They have no jurisdiction outside of the state...what if we made a break for Nevada? It's a bit far but I think I could make it...if we could only lose these cops and take off to the East...I could turn off into any one of these local farms and lose them in a tall field!"

He waited anxiously for everyones' thoughts as he accelerated to well above the speed limit in order to maintain the illusion of being in a hurry to get Phantom to a maternity ward.

ooc: I'm going to send the FBI after you :P

BIC: Lt. Rezit didn't like this idea of constantly breaking the law, regardless of the alternatives. "Maybe we should just actually go to the hospital and figure it from there- I doubt he'd try to follow us in there; doesn't he have better things to do?"

ooc: Ah, that famous question...

"What happens if he doesn't? I may be able to fool them into thinking I'm pregnant, but that won't work on medical people..." Phantom said.

ooc: omg, what if the FBI figured out there were people from space on the planet and did come???

OOC: Yeah and all of 'em here on this board!

BIC:

Tuvok nodded to Chaim.
"I can appreciate your considerations. Still I am inclined that we should follow Mr. Faelons' suggestion regarding the Sacramento State University. It seems we *have* tho break local laws all the time anyway, therefore it would be logical to break the law guided by someone who knows how to do it - you do, do you?" Tuvok suddenly asked Faelon.

"Uh...I think so. Rather, I know people who know how to use the equipment at Sac State. I could get us in and out quickly, but I'd have to get in touch with my friend and have him help us. Should I do that? I need to turn around like now to go back to Sac if that's the plan."

"What about the cops following us? How do we let them know we're going back to Sac without them getting suspicious?"

"Do you have any way of communicating with them?" Janeway responded to Phantom's question.

"Not unless you roll down the window and yell..."

"So turn around and do it."

"Okay then...hope this works..."

Faelon slowed down, turned on his left blinker, rolled down his window and made a looping-signal with his hand. He made a U-turn and shouted "Heading to Sac, it's closer," and then floored it as they headed back to the city from which they had been trying to escape.

Tuvok looked at the police car behind them.
With a sudden idea, he turned back.

"Faelon," he slowly asked, "Would that police car - (thinking: That primitive, 400-years-back, pre-historic vehicle) - have some form of computer systems installed? Would they have anything like - " he paused to think of a good example - " a monitoring system to identify you by the strange little plate at the back of your car?"

"Oh, Commander, of course not!" Chaim replied, laughing. "If they're primitive enough to act as they have been, you think they're sophisticated enough to track a vehicle merely by the virtue of a few alphanumeric characters? Hahahaha" He started to roll around in laughter, then stopped, when he realized everyone was staring at him.

"Yes," Phantom answered Tuvok's question after an awkward pause, "they can tell who we are by the license plate."

"Yeah," Faelon said in echo of Phantom, "and they have a full computer system uplinked to a database by satellite internet access. What is your idea?"

"Actually I have an idea. Their satellite connection is archaic, but still could be used to uplink to Voyager and possibly allow us to control the transporters from here."

ooc: Oh, wow, we're back on this one? Yay!

BIC: "Oh, sure, because we know how well that went with Starling," Chaim muttered.

"But in that episode he had access to more advanced technology and could block you. In reality, nobody here knows anything about matter energy conversion," Phantom said. "Unless Stargate is real too, and not just a tv show."

OOC: Stargate, ROFL. We should seriously consider an unserious cross-over sometime. Not *now, not *now*, hold it, but something for next Mardi Gras time or so. OK, we're taking it to the next level. We've seen Phantom's world, now we show her ours...BIC:

Tuvok took Janeway's words as an order and was already working on his tricorder.
He was surprised how easy it was now that they had the idea.
"You may stop pretending to be pregnant!" Tuvok said to Phantom, and Faelon: "You better park that car, Faelon!"

As soon as that was taken care of, the familiar beaming swirl transported them away. Milliseconds later, the whole group appeared right on the bridge of Voyager. While it was everyday life for the crew, it was - to put it mildly - in all the shocks they had received another huge blow for Phantom and Faelon to stand on the very real bridge they knew from the TV series.
