OOC: HAHAHAHAA!!!! If you consider having Harpie blood in your mouth a happy ending... HAHAHAHAA!!! ic: Harry and Tuvok awoke in sickbay after what has got to be the most awkward mind-meld the Vulcan's ever had. "So apparently," Harry began, as he slowly rose from the biobed,"the uninfected crew members have to bite the infected ones to revert them to human form again." |

OOC: ROFL. Actually, I'm happy that we're about to finish this in such an original way. It's one of those scenes where you don't see how everyone is saved but we see them talking about it afterwards. And I just had a huge laugh at your line "the uninfected crew members have to bite the infected ones to revert them to human form again." - this is going to be a classic. So, on that comic note, let's head into the final round - please everybody, no unforeseen plot twists anymore, just "eludicating" about the consequencies of Harry's little explanation above... BIC: Harry Kim had done it. Tuvok was staring at him, absolutely speechless. Not that he already understood how true Harry's words have been, but by considering all the akward situations to follow now - who would bit whom? With so many infected members, he possibly had to organize biting shifts... would Janeway bite anyway... would B'Elanna kill everyone she bites (or make love to)... would Tom Paris finally get at both of the Delaney sisters... and most of all - who would agree to bite Neelix? |
December 2014 Logical, sober, well-shaved and unbearably reasonable. Commander Tuvok ready to enervate you! Image gallery: http://s11.zetaboards.com/Voyager/single/?p=8038291&t=7491706 | |

ooc: That is quite possibly the best line ever written on this message board. I think we may have to make a new webpage to preserve amazing quotes like that. And omg, awkward ending, lol! ![]() ic: "Excuse me?" Janeway's initial relief at seeing both her officers alive and safe instantly disappeared into the flood of disbelief at Harry's words and the hint of a death glare creeping onto her face. |

Harry straightened himself up on the edge of the biobed. "It's true, captain," he said softly. "Although my mind was suppressed in that...that thing," he paused to look at the fallen wings and claws and icky skin and so forth scattered on the sickbay floor,"I knew what it was thinking. They revert back to the original host when someone who has not been infected bites them!" Of course, Harry didn't realize that Janeway's question was most likely rhetorical, but he seemed to get a kick out of explaining it over again and seeing her expression. |

Inwardly, he didn't have the heart to tell them that this is the method in which this race of Grr'arghians procreate, by infecting other races with their genetic code. Could this how the Borg began assimilating? They too left two marks on the victim's neck. A shiver ran up and down the ensign's spine and he shuddered at the thought. Did the captain or Tuvok see that? |

This was one of the few times in her life that Janeway was absolutely flabbergasted at what the universe was asking her, and those under her command, to do. With a deep breath, she summoned the last reserves of her already-thin patience. "All right. Let's inform the rest of the crew and continue working on confining the infected to a smaller area." I hate the Delta Quadrant... |

The EMH's facial expression did nothing to conceal his astonishment over what has transpired over the last several hours. But since he had no better alternative to provide, as least medically, he decided to allow the events to continue to unfold. "Well," he said haughtily, "it appears as though you don't need what modern medicine has to provide. It seems our young ensign has once again saved the day with the weirdness the Delta Quadrant has to offer." He turned on his heel, headed towards his office and under his breath muttered, "I am on the voyage of the damned!" |

"Doctor," Janeway stopped him perhaps a little too hastily, "Shouldn't there be a way to get the same effect using a hypospray?" She tried to conceal her hope for an affirmative answer. |

The EMH stopped and craned his neck to see the longing in Janeway's eyes before he turned to face her. "Captain," he said softly as if to ease her longing, "I wish there were another way. Believe me, I wish I had come up with an antedote myself so I could write an article to present to Starfleet Medical at the next transmission to the Alpha Quadrant. But I don't." |

Janeway managed to keep herself from swearing and constrained her movement to a tight nod of understanding. "All right then." She turned to face Tuvok and the now-healthy Harry. "We'd best get to it, then." She honestly could not think of a mission report she would like to write less. Starfleet was going to need a lot of explanation on this one. |

The thought repulsed him. The act disgusted him. Harry began to wonder how Harpies would taste in his mouth. This reminded him of all the vampire movies from the mid-twentieth century Tom made him watch on, what was it called? A television. He instinctively brought his hand to his mouth to suppress a small bolus of vomit attempting to erupt into his mouth. "Brought up a little Leeola root there," he said pounding lightly against his chest. |

Janeway sighed. "None of us like this, but it has to be done. Tuvok, how many uninfected crew members are left?" |

OOC: Well, "Threshold" comes to mind but the Captain didn't have to write it, LOL. BIC: "Exactly 50 percent. So we will need biting pairs unless someone wants to bite more than once - I assume it could serve Mr. Neelix strange kind of taste but he might get used to it..." Only one. That wasn't too bad. Janeway mentally assigned herself to Chakotay--it would be less awkward for both of them--and responded to Tuvok. "One to one, then. I'll draw up a list." She turned slightly to include the Doctor in her next statement. "We're going to need a way to isolate or incapacitate the infected for this to work." |
