ooc: hold on a minute, there was an alien vessel onto which the 72 infected harpies transferred. It is now disengaged from Voyager and is not on its way to... oh well, I might as well do all of this ic:

IC:

:comm: Officer at Ops to Janeway. The alien vessel that disengaged from Voyager and now carrying the 72 infected crew members who are now harpies, went to warp and is heading towards the Harpie Homeworld. Should I set a pursuit course? :comm:

ooc: Oops. Forgot all that. Nice save, though, lol.

It's a good thing this is housecleaning.

ic: :comm: Do it! :comm: "You've got ten minutes to find a way to keep them secure," Janeway informed Tuvok and the Doctor, already on her way to the bridge. "Harry, you're with me."

"Yes, ma'am!"

Although the prospect of biting into a Harpie was at the very least abhorrent, Harry matched the captain's stride and mentally prepared himself for the task that was expected of each one of them. At least he would only have to bite one Harpie.

"Tell me everything you know that could help us get our people off of that ship," Janeway ordered as they walked.

"Well," Harry racked his brain. The memory of being a Harpie was slowly ebbing away. "Let's see. This is the manner in which this species procreates: by infecting other races to become Harpies. They travel at low warp and their propulsion system utilizes methane for combustion (ooc: not too sure about the science here, I'm just indicating it is a very archaic and primitive culture). Concept of family means a great deal to them."

"Do they have shields?" This was the important question. Voyager could catch up and get away faster, and could probably find some way to exploit the methane combustion to cripple the other ship, but if they couldn't get their people out first these abilities were useless.

"Now that's the odd thing, captain," Harry said as they entered the turbo lift. "The shields allowed only inorganic matter to pass through their shields and not organic. We won't be able to beam them off the alien vessel, only inorganic matter, which really won't do us any good."

He brought his forefinger to his lip in deep meditation.

"Does that mean we can beam a torpedo into their shield generator?"

Harry's eyes lit up. "I don't see any reason why we wouldn't be able to," he said as he followed the captain onto the bridge, briskly marching over to Ops and relieving the officer on duty. "I take it you have a plan?"

He didn't have to wait for the captain's response. His fingers adroitly danced over the smooth surface when the computer tooted softly indicating the arming sequence of a photon torpedo has been initialized.

"I do now." Janeway settled into her chair. "How close are we?"

"What's next?" the doctor asked Tuvok.

"We will be within transporter range in 47 seconds," Harry replied and with a few more taps to the console, added, "the alien vessel is now onscreen and...captain, we're being hailed!"

"Beam all of our people to cargo bay 1 once we're in range, and erect level 10 forcefields. Including in the deck and ceiling plating," she added, remembering the incident on the bridge. Time to bluff well enough to give them the needed time. "On screen."

OOC: I assume I stayed at sickbay...

BIC:

"I don't know," Tuvok said, "I assume the Captain expects security-related issues here in sickbay so I had to stay."
He didn't mention anything relating the EMH with a single word. Obviously all he was concerned about was himself.

Logical, sober, well-shaved and unbearably reasonable. Commander Tuvok ready to enervate you!

"We're within transporter range but their shields are preventing me from transporting the crew off their ship. They are, after all, organic, captain!" Harry reported. "However, the photon torpedo is ready for transport on your mark."
