The air was suddenly becoming thin and it was becoming harder to breathe. Additionally, with propulsion being offline along with inertial dampers, everyone who wasn't securing themselves, grabbing onto something secure, was being hurled around like puppets.

"Shield strength back up to full strength, captain!" It was difficult to breathe, let alone speak, but harry managed to utter the words.

"Just a few more seconds, then we should be out of the shockwave." Janeway's knuckles were white with the effort of staying in one place. Hang in there, Voyager...

Just when it seemed like there would be no end, the shockwave finally dissipated bringing Voyager to a gradual halt.

"Primary and secondary power coming back online, captain." Harry began to relax and regain his composure. "The shields in the brig and sickbay are holding, but the harpies within are agitated."

The prospect of having to go down there and bite the harpies was unappealing, and Harry sincerely hoped the captain or the doctor could find another way.

Janeway let out the breath she'd been holding. "Understood. We'll have to find a way to calm them down."

The EMH in sickbay was hurled around with everyone else and finally settled in the far end of sickbay. His gaze fell upon the Vulcan cradling his arm at the other end. He rose instantly and ran over to him.

"Tuvok!" He was a little more excited than he ought to have been, but he didn't care at the moment. The doctor needed to tend to the security officer's wounds. "Are you all right?"

:comm: Janeway to sickbay, we have the harpies contained in the cargo bay. Can you find a way to incapacitate them until we can... change them back? :comm:

:comm: I am releasing a modified Anesthezine gas into the stasis fields even as we speak. But captain, I don't know how long they'll be sedated. Their physiology is still a bit of a mystery to me. Sickbay out. :comm:

"That doesn't give us much time." Janeway steeled herself for the next thing she had to say. "All right. Let's get everyone available down to the cargo bay. We have to bite all of the infected crew members before they wake up." She didn't look too closely at Harry's and Tuvok's reactions to that.

If the captain did look up at the young ensign, she would have seen him holding back getting sick yet again.

"Yes, captain. As soon as I'm done with these...umm...modifications to internal sensors."

*Fast Forward... everybody's at the cargo bay*

Janeway regarded the uncomfortable faces of her still-human crew. She was fairly certain her own expression mirrored the trepidation exhibited on theirs, and she did her best to push that aside. "All right. I know this is quite possibly the strangest order I will ever give..." or that anybody will ever give... "but I need each of you to go into that cargo bay, and bite one of your unconscious crewmates on the neck to counter the harpy DNA. Once you've bitten them, inform the Doctor so that he can transport them to sickbay and revive them." She ignored the awkward murmurings among the few who hadn't already known why they were summoned here. "With any luck, we'll have the entire crew back and healthy in under an hour."

"I'll stand by just in case anything gets out of hand."

The EMH inwardly rolled his eyes asking himself when has anything ever NOT get out of hand?

ooc: Let's wrap this up. Everybody who wants to can post the awkwardness in the cargo bay, then we'll have a nice little end scene. :)

ic: As crewmen reluctantly picked those they knew best to bite, Janeway found herself standing awkwardly near Chakotay's unconscious body, trying to figure out the method of doing this that would be least undignified for them both. There wasn't one. She sighed, then knelt next to him, grateful that everyone else seemed to be too occupied with their own embarrassment to notice hers. "Sorry, Chakotay," she murmured, before giving him a forceful bite on the neck.

She stood before she had the chance to reflect on how difficult this would be to report to Starfleet Command. "Doctor," she quickly dropped any appearance of how uncomfortable this really was, "Commander Chakotay's been taken care of."

The EMH was hovering over the bodies of Lieutenant Ayala and Ensign Parsons when the captain's report reached him. Preparing his medical tricorder, he drifted over to where the Charpy lay, sweeping the small device across its entire body.

"His human DNA is beginning to re-assert itself. The harpy's superfluous organelles are imploding, being replaced by human organs. He will experience a little disorientation, but he'll be fine."

ooc: Are you in sickbay or in the cargo bay?

ic: "Good to know. Keep me posted." Janeway made a hasty retreat back to the relative normalcy of the bridge.
