Harry lurched forward as though he was about to pounce on Q. "Where have you sent them?" he asked sternly. "You sent Davey with your son to, who knows where, without any Q powers?" |

Janeway, too, looked like she was only barely holding back from something violent. "Q, bring them back!" |

NPC: Q "You're in no position to make demands, Kathryn!" Q sneered and as he snapped his fingers he disappeared in a flash of blinding light. |

B'Elanna stared at the spot where Q had just been standing. "Maybe we're going about this the wrong way. Q is a parent, and by the looks of it a scared one. We need to stop telling him what he's doing wrong, and instead guide him." She looked at Janeway. "I might be the only senior officer with a child, but captain, you know what its like to take care of others. You do it everyday. Together, we should be able to talk to Q and get David back." |

(While Tom watches tv) Torres: It was pretty boring, until Ensign Farley started snoring and then no one could keep a straight face. Of course, the Doctor wasn't at all amused. Paris: Oo! Hockey! Torres: It was a shame that we had to cut the lecture short, but the warp core overloaded and then the Borg invaded and we were all assimilated. Paris: Ah ha. Torres: You haven't heard a single thing I've said, have you? | |

"Q," B'Elanna bellowed to the air, "I know you're listening. We need to talk to you." |

Q2 looked at David and smiled. "This is great! Now he's off my back, and wasting time on your ship, and we're here fully empowered and free! I know you just got Q abilities, but we need to work together to use them and stop this war before I become a meaningless sacrifice. Quickly, let's think of something...got any ideas?" |

"What about just talking it out?" |
"So... I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But the most damning thing of all... I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again, I would. Garak was right about one thing, a guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the safety of the Alpha Quadrant. So I will learn to live with it. Because I can live with it. I can live with it... Computer, erase that entire personal log."

"Well considering that all you have done is fight and have gotten no where, perhaps it is a good idea to go back to basics. Have the heads of the two parties come and sit down at a table to talk it out. It's 'small' but you never known unless you try." |
