"Well then, I guess we'll move this little meeting to my ready room where there is coffee!!!" B'Elanna screamed and then stopped, and stared at Janeway. She needed coffee so much that it was funny. "You really need to kick this addiction, Captain," she laughed before heading to the door.

Torres: It was pretty boring, until Ensign Farley started snoring and then no one could keep a straight face. Of course, the Doctor wasn't at all amused.
Paris: Oo! Hockey!
Torres: It was a shame that we had to cut the lecture short, but the warp core overloaded and then the Borg invaded and we were all assimilated.
Paris: Ah ha.
Torres: You haven't heard a single thing I've said, have you?

"When Vulcan freezes over," Janeway retorted, though her tone was light. "And body-switching or not, it's still my ready room."

"True, true, but no one else knows that," B'Elanna joked as the two of them walked down the hallway, leaving the Doctor in sickbay.

Janeway stopped. "Oh, no. You are not suggesting that we don't tell them."

"It would be hysterical."

"B'Elanna, we have to finish a trade negotiation..." Janeway realized as she spoke that the excuse was useless. The aliens already knew about the switch, and no doubt would be more than willing to play along. She tried another tactic. "If something goes wrong you'll be needed in engineering." Right, Kathryn. Brilliant. Janeway almost had to roll her eyes at herself. They hadn't encountered hostiles in over a month, the ship was in perfect working order apart from the needed dilithium, morale was fine, and the chances of suddenly needing to assume their real posts were practically zero. She could almost hear Neelix's voice in her head, telling her that such a prank would be a great morale-booster. When Chakotay joined in, mentioning that she could use an afternoon without having to command everyone else, she stopped the mental conversation. "All right, fine. Don't crash my ship."

"But...what about the procedure?"

The EMH was hopelessly calling out to the two women now walking down the corridor towards the nearest turbolift. He was really eager to try this Banean memory overlaying technology on his fellow crewmates. What a marvelous paper it would make for the 'Starfleet Medical Tribune.' He would be hailed as one of if not THE greatest and most brilliant minds of the 23rd century. A smile slowly crept onto his face as he imagined himself accepting the lifetime achievement award for his extensive medical prowess in the Delta Quadrant while the sickbay doors shut closed.

Janeway and B'Elanna made their way to the bridge, but before they could enter Janeway stopped. "You should probably change," she commented, looking at the muddy uniform.

"Agreed," B'Elanna smiled, looking at the mess on her uniform. "And captain, you probably should head to engineering."

Something along the lines of I need to be there when you speak to the ambassador almost came out of Janeway's mouth, but the ambassador had already made it fairly clear that they were more interested in talking to B'Elanna. They hadn't even said anything to the captain when they realized she was listening in. Honestly, she probably did know enough about engineering to run it for one day, and Torres had already shown that she could handle diplomacy. What could it hurt?

"All right, but if any type of situation arises at all, we're switching back immediately." With that, Janeway turned and, feeling mildly uneasy about what she'd just agreed to, headed to Engineering.

ooc: Okay, so I realize it's slightly out of character to agree to this, but it will make for a funny story involving the entire crew, so we'll just go with it. TPTB made some of their own character continuity mistakes, after all! ;)

Seven strode down the hallway, she had noticed the Captain and B'Elanna talking. Something had indeed seemed peculiar about their conversation, but he could not quite decide exactly what was going on. And so she attributed it to simple human and humanoid peculiarities. Even after all her time on Voyager, she still sometimes failed to totally understand their uniqueness. She allowed her mind to focus on the problem at hand and entered sickbay. She walked up to the EMH, who appeared lost in some reverie. "Hello Doctor, I hope you are having a more pleasant evening than I."

The EMH was wrenched out of his reverie by the ex-drone's familiar monotone yet sultry voice. "Seven," he said somewhat startled as though he was caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar. "Don't tell me you had another run in with Ensign Kim."

Seven looked at him almost blankly, she had been working on her humor, but it was still lacking. "Ensign Kim has not made any recent...advances. That is something which is most welcome. Actually my ocular implant has been causing some headaches recently. I would like you to examine it, and if necessary adjust it."

After quickly changing into a clean uniform, which was slightly ackward doing so in the captain's quarters, B'Elanna headed to the bridge. "Report." it was hard not to laugh.

Janeway entered engineering, trying very hard not to act like herself. She belatedly realized she had not asked B'Elanna what was supposed to be accomplished today, and that Ensign Kim had planned to work with her on... something. Between the switch and the ambassador's library of information, she hadn't had time to keep up with the logistics of her ship.
