Chakotay raised an eyebrow again, "Are you getting enough sleep? You aren't overworking are you because I can rotate?"

"Stop worrying about my sleeping habits, and no, I'm not working too much." Janeway sighed. "I have no idea how this happened, and neither does B'Elanna. So we just need to get through the negotiations, and then hopefully the Doctor can find a way to reverse it."

"Right" Chakotay agreed with the Captain's....eh B'Elanna's appraisal. "Why didn't you tell me this?"

"With the Prime Minister waiting, there honestly wasn't enough time." Janeway eyed his expression suspiciously. "I can't tell if you believe me or not."

Chakotay shrugged, "It's difficult to believe when you...um...B'Elanna is standing here" He was really wishing his insomnia had kept him in his quarters.

"Would it help you if I drank a gallon of coffee in the next ten minutes?" Oh, how she wanted to do so. But this was B'Elanna's body, and she probably wouldn't react kindly to having "dangerously high levels of toxins", in the Doctor's words, poured into it.

"I get the idea B'El.....Captain....." Chakotay turned to look at the Doctor's office and then back to the Captain, "So how is B'Elanna doing?"

"She's doing well," Janeway said, knowing B'Elanna would hear as well, and that any other appraisal of the situation would make her more nervous. "Possibly even better than I would. It's helpful that I can access their cultural documents from here and feed her the information instead of having to memorize all of it."

Chakotay felt like a spare wheel, not sure what to do really in this instance.

"What can I do?"

"First, you can not say anything to the rest of the crew before I've come up with a way to explain this." Janeway thought for a few seconds. "You should probably talk with the Doctor about the possibility of fixing the situation. I've got my hands full at the moment."

"I can see that, just avoid Paris..." Chakotay smirked and turned to go look for the doctor.

Janeway grimaced. "A little late for that," she muttered to herself, then turned her attention back to what was happening on the other ship.

"Doctor!" Chakotay went into the good doctors office hoping to reverse the situation with the Captain and Torres.

The EMH had been toiling on the captain's and B'elanna's predicament in the privacy of his office when the commander burst in, wrenching him from his concentration.

"I really do need a locking mechanism to my office," he said rather irritated, and then seemed somewhat shaken when he saw it was Chakotay that called out for him. "What can I do for you, commander?"

B'Elanna looked at the ugly woman in front of her. She had never been one to judge, she herself had been judged her whole life, but this woman was beyond ugly. If things could go her way, she'd leave and never look back. Unfortunately, B'Elanna was pretty sure the captain wouldn't approve. For some reason B'Elanna wanted to impress the captain with this mission. It wasn't an engineering problem, and she really wanted to do well.

Talking in a monotone was not going to be easy. She was use to being loud. Think like the captain. What would Janeway do? "I accept the Shroud of Roalty with great humility, and bestow my thanks upon the," her mind went blank. Upon what? My thanks upon the shine, no Shrine. "blessed Shrine and blessed vessel." A small smile started to crawl across her face before she pull it in. She was doing it!

(While Tom watches tv)
Torres: It was pretty boring, until Ensign Farley started snoring and then no one could keep a straight face. Of course, the Doctor wasn't at all amused.
Paris: Oo! Hockey!
Torres: It was a shame that we had to cut the lecture short, but the warp core overloaded and then the Borg invaded and we were all assimilated.
Paris: Ah ha.
Torres: You haven't heard a single thing I've said, have you?
