"You know plenty," B'Elanna barked back before smiling. "Doc, this whole mission is about showing the harmony that this ship has. You are a huge part of that harmony. Just be yourself, without scanning them the second they arrive, and show them your musicless harmony that is so beautiful." |

(While Tom watches tv) Torres: It was pretty boring, until Ensign Farley started snoring and then no one could keep a straight face. Of course, the Doctor wasn't at all amused. Paris: Oo! Hockey! Torres: It was a shame that we had to cut the lecture short, but the warp core overloaded and then the Borg invaded and we were all assimilated. Paris: Ah ha. Torres: You haven't heard a single thing I've said, have you? | |

You are a huge part of that harmony. The words washed through his program stimulating his modesty subroutine. He supposed he was tickled by the Lieutenant's praise. He was certainly fortunate to be part of this crew instead of mining for ore like his holographic counterparts were doing in the Alpha Quadrant. "Why thank you, B'elanna!" he said, puffing his chest out a bit. |

B'Elanna smiled and then turned to the ensign working in the transporter room. "We're ready. Please beam over our guests." |

NPC Conductor The ensign nodded, and a moment later the conductor and his team materialized on the platform. The conductor looked around the room with a critical eye. "Your ship is well-designed," he commented in the lilting speech of his people, his floppy ears bouncing in rhythm with his words. |

"Thank you," B'Elanna replied, taking a step forward. "Let me introduce you to my assistant, Lt. Chaim Rezit, and our Chief Medical Doctor, The Doctor." |

NPC Conductor "Yes, yes, yes, I know," the conductor waved an ear dismissively. "Show us the harmonies." |

This was going to be harder then Torres had thought. "Follow me please." She began to lead the small group towards the turbo-lifts. "As I mentioned before, we live in harmony. Our actions cause the beautiful, musicless harmony that keeps this ship together. I'm going to take you first to my part of the ship, Main Engineering." |

NPC Aliens As they walked, the aliens maintained complete silence. By this point, it was clear that they were strongly telepathic, and from the glances they kept giving each other, they were probably discussing the Voyager crew. |

B'Elanna swallowed deeply. Would this "harmony" be enough for this race? She really didn't want to have to keep singing for the rest of the journey home. The turbo-lift doors opened and the group walked into Main Engineering. "Welcome." |

NPC Aliens The silence continued, though each member of the alien party perked up their ears. This made them all considerably taller, but also made them look comically like rabbits. The conductor waved an ear at B'Elanna. "Go on." |

She had to control herself from laughing. They looked so hystrical, and this was from someone that had seen Ferengi. "Right now, we are calibrating the warp manifolds. It takes many engineers working together, but with each unique skill, the task will go by quickly and successfully." |

NPC Aliens There was a great deal of nodding, which caused the long ears to bob up and down, and two of the aliens very nearly got tangled together. "Tell us what task each singer is performing," he directed. |

Having been dismissed by the alien made the EMH's job a little easier as he followed the group discreetly all the way to engineering, scanning the aliens from a distance. |

ooc: something we may have missed out on- the humming of the warp core makes its own little music. |
