Leandro was enjoying his work, the crewmate he worked with was rather quiet, he liked that about him, he needed his scanner and some help from the crewmate in question; Give me please that scanner friend .. and give me a helping hand He suddenly sang, he blinked a few times, as a chuckle escaped from the other Crewman Sure my friend I'll help you out but what's that singing all about ? They laughed at the singing at first then got serious and decided to report to the bridge, they figured they would not be taken seriously if they sang through the Comm...

Feeling wierd, Baxter went to his quarters. A few seconds, the door was buzzed. He opened it and saw the post officer. Baxter nodded thanks to the postal delivery guy and brought him in for a break.
(In the tune of Sixteen Going on Seventeen in the Sound of Music)

"You're the postal man, delivering even a can. Man you are more than cool. Better beware for Tuvok's affairs cuz he doesn't really care. You're the postal man delivering all you can. Now it is time to go. Have fun with your job outside of the hob and I'll see you to and fro."

With that the officer left.

OOC: Love that, Walt... alright, here's my desperate stab

IC: Krys stared around, dumbstruck, as the obligatory orchestral offerings filled the bridge. She clamped her hand over her mouth and refused to open it for fear that she would break out in song. She hadn't sung in almost fifteen years, following multiple embarrassing incidents involving a Children's Decantathon (group singing competition), a massively important solo piece, a dangerous throat and lung infection, and one half Kirian's almost irrepressible determination not to let her team down. Almost irrepressible. She sang at the competition, but her team ended up in last because her voice was thick and scratchy following the infection, and she slipped out of key multiple times. After she fully recovered, she tried to return to the Decantathon team but was horribifed to realize her voice still carried the effects of the infection. She was politely asked to withdraw from the team and the almost irrepressible Kirian child....... was finally repressed.

Flashbacks and fears bombarded her mercilessly so instead of even trying to talk, she composed a short textual message and sent it to Harry. What's going on?

Kirians
The Kirian Race is a species I created. They're from the M Class Planet,
Rianika and have an extra marker in the blood known as Luminol,
giving off a glow. Kirians are also Neophasic. They can
pass through solid objects except for dense metals or
biomatter. Adrenaline in the system nullifies that rule.

B'Elanna Torres
Dec 2 2010, 09:15 PM
Her throat was really hurting and if no one else was going to get the Doc, B'Elabna would. Pressing her comm badge she sang

Torres to the Doctor,
I need some help!
All I can do is sing,
not talk, shout or yelp!
The whole bridge is tweeting
like little birds in the sky.
And my throats really hurting,
if I wasn't half Klingon I would cry!
:comm: Sickbay here. What's going on, B'elanna? There are reports coming in from all over the ship from crew members breaking out in song! :comm:

"Mr. Kim, please keep such thoughts in quiet,
Otherwise the bridge will sound like a riot!
If what you have to say isn't helping us find
The cure to what's going on in our minds...
"

Abruptly, the music playing over the comm system ceased, and Janeway finished her sentence in normal speech. "...then start looking for answers instead of complaining about Mondays."

Apparently the opening number was over.

"Doc, it seems Voyager has turned into a musical. Is there anything that is causing this medically," B'Elanna asked, relieved that her response hadn't been in song form. Her vocal folds needed a rest.
(While Tom watches tv)
Torres: It was pretty boring, until Ensign Farley started snoring and then no one could keep a straight face. Of course, the Doctor wasn't at all amused.
Paris: Oo! Hockey!
Torres: It was a shame that we had to cut the lecture short, but the warp core overloaded and then the Borg invaded and we were all assimilated.
Paris: Ah ha.
Torres: You haven't heard a single thing I've said, have you?

:comm: It appears as though before I could conduct any scans on my patients, the singing abruptly stopped. Their brain patterns are currently....normal. If this occur again, however, I will be more prepared. Sickbay out. :comm:

Krys forced her muscles to relax and chided herself for being so afraid. Why? Who knew? The Decantathon fiasco had been awful, but hardly enough to make her fear singing itself. Was it? She didn't understand the fear, but it was there and loomed like a demon in her mind to ravage her when and if the canorous curse returned.

After a moment, she dared to test her voice, "W-wha-a." Her voice caught and quivered tremulously, so she cleared her throat and tried again. "What happened?"

ooc: Aw, I like the character development through this, Krys! :)

ic: Janeway looked, like everyone else who had been forced to sing, mildly embarrassed, but she tried to ignore that, instead focusing on finding an answer to Krys's question. "Harry, I want continual scans of the ship and the surrounding area, in case someone is behind this. B'Elanna, try to find out why the comm system started playing music. Get the rest of engineering to help you." This really was a weird quadrant.

OOC: Thanks, no Idea where thge idea came from but it's a cool thought, somewhere in here, I want her to be the first one to talk/sing when it comes back and she'll sound nice.

IC: Krys sat down hard on the little console chair and choked on nothing in particular. It was back.

ooc: Aww, I like that!

ic: Janeway opened her mouth, probably to say something to the effect of "not again", then abruptly closed it. She was not going to cater to this... this thing, unless she absolutely had to. That was, assuming there was some purpose or intent behind the singing, and not just a very, very bizarre disease. No, she decided, a naturally-occurring disease couldn't possibly have developed this as a side-effect. There had to be somebody or something behind it.

ooc: If anyone has any idea what I'm going to find when I check the computer, please PM me.

bic: So it was back! Just great, B'Elanna thought, as she glanced around the bridge. Her singing wasn't too bad. There were many Klingon customs that involved singing, even battle, and B'Elanna had made sure that when she had to sing, it was good. However, it had been many years since the last time she had had a reason to sing.

She looked around the bridge once again. It hadn't been an easy few months. There were the Borg, of course, plus other races that were out there just waiting to destroy Voyager. Maybe a little singing was ok. Maybe it was just what the crew needed to ease the stress.

Glancing at Janeway, B'Elanna smiled and sang- (tune of Tomorrow from Annie)

The Borg will be here tomorrow,
Or someone else will attack us, yes, tomorrow
That’s for sure.

The engines will stop working, tomorrow,
Or a rare disease will strike tomorrow
It always does

So sing now,
And sing loud,
It ok to be proud,
Tomorrow’s only a day away

Relax now,
If you know how,
Tomorrow’s only a day away!
