Tom grabbed his controls and panned quickly to starboard, pulling them quickly down and under where the belly of the incoming torpedo would be. He watched the torpedo carefully trying to anticipate its next move.

Trianna gasped as she realized her mistake. This is exactly why I should've let Seven come down here... she thought, She would have never jumped to conclusions like that. I could have seriously damaged Voyager. She was stressed out as it was, and didn't need anything more to add to it.

"We found something sir." That was from Gunther. "The torpedo seems to be getting telemetry. As in this thing does not have it's own guidance system." She paused "I talked it over with the others and we were able backtrack the carrier wave it is getting the telemetry from. All we need to do is jam that and the torpedo will detonate. Since we don't have a deflector array, we will have to modify the phasers to emit the signal." David looked at the rest of the team and smiled. "Quite the innovative thinking. Send me the point of origin for that carrier wave, get to work. Good work. Also don't call me sir please." She nodded then sent the telemetry, then she, Montero, and Robinson started to modify the phasers. David looked over at Tom "When they are ready, get us into phaser range."
"So... I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But the most damning thing of all... I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again, I would. Garak was right about one thing, a guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the safety of the Alpha Quadrant. So I will learn to live with it. Because I can live with it. I can live with it... Computer, erase that entire personal log."

Tom nodded at Cohen and readied himself, it was an easy enough task. He was enjoying watching the team behind him, all of them were of lower rank then him but in an area like this, in a situation like this you didn't feel the ranks, you just went with it.

ooc: Nice idea, Dave!

ic: The torpedo continued tracking the shuttle, zeroing in on its energy output.

OCC: Thanks.

"Don't want to push but that torpedo is getting close." David said, watching the sensor readouts. "Almost there. Give me a second." Gunther said. A few sparks and flickering lights after that, Gunther, Montero, and Robinson looked up from their stations, a bit of sweat and uniform burns on them, smiled and nodded. "Tom, get us in range. Once I fire, get us out of here." Tom replied with a surge of the impulse engines, taking the Flyer into a nice sharp diagonal vector. David got a target lock and fired. The modified phasers hit the torpedo, Tom then pushed the stick down sending the Flyer into a sharp dive, above and behind them, the torpedo exploded. Sometime between the phasers hitting the torpedo and Tom's evasive maneuvers a few EPS grids blew out. "Good job everyone." :comm: Flyer to Voyager, torpedo is destroyed. We lost a few EPS grids, but nothing major. Gunther, Montero, and Robinson were able to figure out that the torpedo didn't have an internal guidance, it was being flown by someplace in this area. Plus they were able to backtrack the signal the torp was going so we got the location of whoever was sending it. I'm sending you that data now. :comm: David got up, patted Tom on the shoulder, and then went over to Gunther, Montero, and Robinson. He looked at the blown circuitry, at the three of them with their singed uniforms and the sweat on their faces, smiled and shook his head. "You didn't tell me that we were going to have a fireworks show. Apart from that, you three showed a lot of talent. Not bad for your first away mission." David said, patting them their shoulders.

OCC: Had fun writing that post. :) Could visualize the Flyer and everything. Looked so cool in my mind. :D

ooc: That was great! :D

ic: :comm: We're receiving the signal now, Lieutenant. :comm: The data that came back was a bit fragmented, so Janeway opened a new channel to the astrometrics lab. :comm: Ensign Lex, the signal that was guiding that torpedo originated somewhere on the planet. It probably belonged to the bounty hunters' ship. Can you find a way to trace it? :comm:

OCC: Thanks. I assume that the Flyer should continue following the signal it picked up?
BIC:

:comm: Ok, I'm continuing the search in the Flyer. We are using the telemetry we got. If we need any help, we will let you know. Flyer out. :comm: "Ok everyone, we are going to follow that telemetry we got. Tom, bring us about and resume your course." He looked at the others "Try to get some repairs done and keep an eye on the sensors." He went back to tactical.

:comm: "I'll try, Captain." :comm: She said, having already started a scan for ships on the surface. She made sure to double check whatever work she was performing.

ooc: Yup, Dave. :)

ic: Trianna's scan revealed a unique energy pattern particular to the bounty hunters' ship. Scanning for it revealed a small craft exiting the upper atmosphere about a quarter of the way around the planet, probably trying to use the chaos of the torpedo to make good an escape.

:comm: "There's a shuttlecraft trying to make a sneaky escape- a quarter's revolution from us." :comm: This she was sure of.

Tom swung the ship about and continued as before, his keen eyes on the sensors above him to watch for more torpedoes and the sensor net that they moved near.

:comm: Yes we did. Moving to intercept :comm: "Tom, take us about again, head for the shuttle escaping the planet."
