ooc: Well, why not have B'Elanna jump in B'Elanna watched the small away mission, keeping in the background. They needed to collect the Dilithium and leave before anything happened. Her tricorder was out, and B'Elanna was busy scanning the cave. There didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary in the scans. (ooc: I can change if there should be something). While scanning, she kept one ear tuned on the rest of the away team and their conversation. It seemed that this away mission was also going to be a learning experience for Ensign Hashama. Lt. Torres wasn't 100% sure if this was the place or time, but she wasn't going to step in now. "Ensign, please explain where you are leading us." |
|
(While Tom watches tv) Torres: It was pretty boring, until Ensign Farley started snoring and then no one could keep a straight face. Of course, the Doctor wasn't at all amused. Paris: Oo! Hockey! Torres: It was a shame that we had to cut the lecture short, but the warp core overloaded and then the Borg invaded and we were all assimilated. Paris: Ah ha. Torres: You haven't heard a single thing I've said, have you? | |

Krys looked up from her own whirring, tweedling tricorder and grinned mischievously at David, "Lt. Torres seems to have things well in hand, I'd hardly call her a newbie."

Hishamori looked back at the others and replied to Torres in a polite tone "From what my Tricorder is indacting the dilituim deposit in deeper inside the cave" Hish was looking at her tricorder while she was explaining to make sure it wasn't picking up any false readings but it still indcated that the dilituim is deeper inside She then looked at David "Also the reason if you are wondering why I'm handleing this so well is cause this isn't my techincal 'real first away mission' my first one was when my mother choose to bring me with her down on one hers cause she wanted to show me how it as like, that and teach me how to handle situations involing them" Hishamori said with a small smile "that and I've did several away missions when i still served on the Intrepid, so this isn't really my first away mission in a techincal sense but it's my first one with Voyager" ooc:Hishamori did server on the intrepid for 6 years before being reassigned to voyager so it would make sense that she has done away missions before that and she has lived on Starfleet ships ever since she was little that and Hishamori's mother would have taken her down with her cause she knew Hish would join Starfleet some day that and the away mission was safe so she didn't have to worry to much. ooc: hope that helps a bit oh and let me know of your opinion

OOC: Sounds like Hish and Krys have similar back-stories. Just an FWI for Hish because she's new-ish: Krys is half Kirian (a race I made up, Check out this story for more info), her father is human and has server in Starfleet Krys' entire life. She and her Kirian mother joined her father aboard his ship when Krys was 8 and she grew up there, entering the academy when she was 16. Voyager was Krys' first mission though. IC: "Sounds like you and I have a lot in common, Hish," Krys said with a smile. "My dad brought mom and I onto the Donovan when I was 8, then later onto the Potemkin and the Nautilus. I grew up crawling around Jefferies Tubes and the like. Mom thought I was an absolute terror, but Dad loved it. He's the one who actually got me interested in engineering." ooc: Dave, what do you mean "finish your first away mission with the above comment"? Also, your description of Dave's first away mission sounds like it would make a great story, if you want to do it! Hish, much better, thank you. Krys, I think the minimum age for entering the academy is 17? I'm going to get the plot going now, so if anyone else wants to jump into the away team, feel free to do so as we move along. ic: The dilithium deposits were registering about a hundred meters further into the cave. As the Starfleet officers headed forward, screaming erupted from somewhere in front of them. A skinny teenage boy came hurtling out of the darkness and crashed directly into Ensign Hashama. He looked remarkably similar to the humans, though his ears sloped slightly backward and his fingernails were green. He stopped screaming and simply stared at the group. A voice called from behind him, "Daki, why did you stop? We weren't done recording yet!" Two other aliens, a young woman and another young man, also came around the corner. "Oh!" the girl cried as she saw the away team. |

OCC: I should have clarified: Remember this: http://w11.zetaboards.com/Voyager/topic/7197408/1/ BIC: "Krys you know I was talking about Hish. I should have clarified Hish. I was referring to your first away mission with us." David said with a slight smile. Just as the screaming started, David pulled his phaser. As the natives appeared, David quickly holstered his phaser. This is not good he thought glancing around. He moved to Lt. Torres. "Since you are the ranking officer I assume you would be the one to deal with this but I don't think those ridges would do anything to calm them down. Ma'm" He said quietly. Why do all the away missions I do with caves always end up with us running into someone? |
"So... I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But the most damning thing of all... I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again, I would. Garak was right about one thing, a guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the safety of the Alpha Quadrant. So I will learn to live with it. Because I can live with it. I can live with it... Computer, erase that entire personal log."

ooc: Ooh, that's right! If you guys ever want to finish that story, let Pete or me know and we'll re-open it. ![]() ic: The first teenager, presumably named Daki, looked suspiciously at the group. "What are all of you doing here? We thought we'd be the only ones using the caves." |

B'Elanna stepped forward. Well, so much for the captain's orders to remain hidden. "My name is.. Miral and this is my family. We stumbled upon these caves while looking for shelter. You are?" |

ooc: Excellent catch, Dave. ![]() ic: Daki stepped closer to B'Elanna and studied her. He grinned broadly. "Nice forehead!" In an instant, his own forehead had transformed to match hers. "I like it!" Looking over his shoulder at his friends, he waved. "Renalia, Pordin, look! Can we use this? It's cool!" Emboldened, the two stepped closer. Renalia tilted her head as she studied the ridges. "I don't know. Do you think it will fit?" "Why not?" Pordin's forehead, too, transformed to hold the half-Klingon ridges. "It's Sun Journey. You can be as creative as you want." Daki turned back to the away team. "You don't have to lie to us. You're here making a recording for the Sun Journey film contest, aren't you?" |

Well that was unexpected David thought to himself. Wait...I've read about this....could these people be related to the Founders who lead the Dominion? David went up and stood next to Torres. "Well my dear wife those ridges gave it away. Can I talk to you for a moment in private?" He said. the Lt is going to kill me for saying that. At least Sarah will get a good laugh. I hope OCC:

OCC: No Sarah isn't on the mission BIC: "Yes I know you both will kill me. It was the only way I could get you away without getting anyone suspicious. If there was any other way I could have done it I would. Besides would you rather have me call you mother?" He said quickly. "You know about what happened to the Maqui. The Dominion that they were talking about is involved in a war with the Federation and the leaders of the Dominion are called the Founders who are shape shifters. A lot like our new 'friends' over there. All I am saying is just to be extra careful. Yes I know that we are on the opposite side of the galaxy but still we need to take extra precautions. Starfleet Intel is very lacking in what tech the Dominion has." |
