Ship's Counselor

"You think? You were defeated by a ship the size of a small shuttle and your men who had protection against our weapons were defeated, and you don't think any of your bidders won't get upset over those little details? Not the slightest? As soon as we are done, Voyager is going to tractor your ship out of the system and send a general message to everyone in range about this including how you were defeated."

"So... I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But the most damning thing of all... I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again, I would. Garak was right about one thing, a guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the safety of the Alpha Quadrant. So I will learn to live with it. Because I can live with it. I can live with it... Computer, erase that entire personal log."

The enormous man's face fell, sending ripples through his multiple chins. "You wouldn't."

"We will." He looked him in the eye. "This system has a civilization that doesn't even have the ability to send ships into space. One of our guiding philosophies is not to interfere in the affairs of cultures, and to stay away from any pre-warp ones. You complicated the last one so our moving you out of the system is the logical course of action. Now calling everyone in range, now that's just payback."

The big man thought for a moment. "I don't suppose we can bribe you?"

"No" He then left and went to the front of the Flyer. :comm: Flyer to Voyager, did you get the information we sent? Also we will be returning to Voyager with some prisoners and do we have enough dilithium yet? Once we have enough after we tractor the enemy ship out of the system, we need to send a general message out to everyone we can reach. They claim that they will be safe even though they didn't get the bounty. I plan to change that. We need to make sure the message is detailing this little adventure about how we were attacked and how we managed to win. We need detail on how we beat them using the Flyer and how our away team defeated them. :comm:

The ship did not reply.

One of the other aliens nudged Pish and whispered something. In response, he shoved the man away and shook his head.

:comm: Flyer to Voyager come in :comm: silence :comm: Voyager respond :comm: David went over to Montero and Gunther. "Run scans and figure out what is going on." He got a quick reply "It looks like there is a jamming device on one of our friends and the only way we can get through it fully is to get closer to Voyager." replied Montero. "Tom you heard the man." David said. He picked up the phaser again, "I'm going to have a chat with our friends. I'm also raising a forcefield around the entire back of the Flyer. If you hear a shout that means there is trouble. Whatever you do, make sure they don't get past the door." and went to the back of the Flyer. "Nice try, using a jamming device. It isn't going to work so hand it over." David said to Pish, lowering the forcefield, making sure the door to the front of the Flyer was now covered by it and raising his phaser.
"So... I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But the most damning thing of all... I think I can live with it. The big man blinked. "We don't have a..." Suddenly a thought seemed to occur to him. "Did you actually finish off the two bounty hunters we subcontracted?"

"They aren't dead if that is what you are asking. They are by Voyager when they surrendered." David paused. "It's on them?"

"Er, that's one way of looking at it," he answered.

"Don't tell them anything!" another alien cried.

"Shut up," said Pish. Then he folded his arms and glowered at David. "I'm pretty sure I know what's going on here, and I'll tell you everything, but in exchange, you let us go. We didn't tell those two to attack you, so your real fight's with them, anyway."

"We are still going to tow your ship out of the system you know that. As for letting everyone know how badly you were defeated, I would be willing to reconsider the wording of your distress call. I assume you got the contract for sending those two to attack us is because you were the lowest bidder."

"Erm...kind of. We're still high-quality professionals, though!" Pish asserted. The rest of his posse nodded in agreement. "I guess I'll take your deal. You phrase the distress call so that we get out of this alive, and we'll help you stop those other two. They aren't worth what we paid them, anyway."

"Fine, then." Pish scratched at his chin. "See, Gero and Hoagie aren't the most expensive subcontractors in the world, and they're not real well known, but we hired them for one reason. They have this thing, this big machine, that can put an entire starship to sleep in a matter of seconds. It's really bulky, which is probably why they didn't use it on your group down on the planet, but they said they could use it to get Voyager for us, no problem.

"So what I figure happened is you got their shuttle to stop, and your friends used that transporter of yours on them. They managed to bring their machine along, and bam! Instant incapacitation."
