OCC: I know. Just doing the job of a security officer. Explaining why we need to be extra careful. |
"So... I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But the most damning thing of all... I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again, I would. Garak was right about one thing, a guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the safety of the Alpha Quadrant. So I will learn to live with it. Because I can live with it. I can live with it... Computer, erase that entire personal log."

ooc: The Dominion weren't discovered until around the time Voyager was lost in the DQ, so most of Voyager's info about them would have been sent in Starfleet data transmissions. In any case, you don't need to worry about it. ![]() ic: Daki was chatting with the other officers. "Nobody ever comes here, but it's the perfect spot to do a space recording!" Renalia chewed her lip thoughtfully. "We just started. We came in from the city side of the caves, so that's probably why we didn't see you on our way here. There's only the three of us, though, and of course, we need one person to do the recording, so that leaves only two of us to make the projections." "Renalia's our recorder," Pordin explained. "She has a really good memory, so when she projects it back, it's very clear." |

B'Elanna nodded at David. "Thank you for the information." She then rejoined the group. "You know, Daki, maybe we could work together. More people, better... result." |

(While Tom watches tv) Torres: It was pretty boring, until Ensign Farley started snoring and then no one could keep a straight face. Of course, the Doctor wasn't at all amused. Paris: Oo! Hockey! Torres: It was a shame that we had to cut the lecture short, but the warp core overloaded and then the Borg invaded and we were all assimilated. Paris: Ah ha. Torres: You haven't heard a single thing I've said, have you? | |

Daki's face positively lit up. "Really? That would be great! It's obvious that you have lots of ideas!" Renalia looked over the Starfleet uniforms. "Those are pretty simple. They should be easy to project. Daki, make sure you can do it, and then we'll get back to work." Daki nodded. "Male or female?" "Male." With some concentration, Daki stared at the opposite wall. A moment later, a three-dimensional humanoid shape appeared, wearing a Starfleet uniform. "How's that?" "You forgot the forehead," Pordin pointed out. "Oh!" A copy of B'Elanna's forehead ridges appeared on the creation. Daki turned to the away team. "What do you think? Is the projection close enough?" |

B'Elanna smiled. "Perfect." This wasn't going to be easy. She had never been more confused in her life. A memory slowly pushed itself to the center of her mind. Captain Proton. Maybe these... beings were just creating a story like Captain Proton. Could they be like Tom? B'Elanna groaned softly. This was going to be a long away mission. |

Harry strode over to the image and reached out his hand. "Very realistic!" he said with an expression of amazement. "I've never seen anything like it! Have you entered the competition before?" |

Harry's hand passed right through the projection, almost like a hologram, but without the normal image disruption. "Yeah," Daki answered. "Well, sort of." "We were disqualified last year," Pordin said. "We didn't finish." "And the year before, another team stole our idea, and then accused us of copying them," Renalia added. Daki brightened. "But this year, we'll definitely win! Pordin's story is perfect!" |

B'Elanna laughed. "What's the story? Space pirates? Bandits? A hero who swings in and saves the day?" |

"Sort of," Pordin said. "There's this character, Brightstar the Sunwalker, and he has this vehicle that can fly through water, and air, and even outer space!" "But there's a villain," Daki continued, "called Singularity, and he's trying to destroy the world from his base on the third moon." "So Brightstar has to find his secret base and fight his way in and disable the Plasmobeam before Singularity finishes charging it," Pordin finished. "There's going to be all kinds of chase scenes and explosions, and it's going to be amazing!" |

"Er..." Both boys glanced at each other. "We were filming the first scene when Daki ran into you," Renalia supplied. |

Rookies, definitely rookies. "Ok, so who can we be?" Whenever Tom ran a program B'Elanna got stuck playing some wimpy girl. This time things would be different. "I play a mean villian. |
