There. Two "P" words.

...Wow. I think Tabris might be the only other American to reach such a level of disillusionment with our country.

“Casey died for a country which cares more about who will be the next American Idol than how many people will be killed in the next few months while Democrats and Republicans play politics with human lives.”

Given the most recent season, that really says something. I disagree about the "a fascist corporate wasteland" part, though. I think the facist wasteland we're rapidly descending into is slightly more reminiscent of Nazi Germany than Final Fantasy VII's Midgard.

Welcome to my world, lady! I've known this shit for years, and...you know what? I truly want to believe in human potential, but nearly everyone I've encountered in my entire life is an idiot who takes great joy in being blind, deaf, and profoundly ignorant. I don't believe in God, I don't believe that America's somehow special just because I live here, I know as a stone cold fact that patriotism is to politics as zealotry is to religion, and I hate both with a burning passion.
Now think for yourselves, bitches.

Big pic. Who's in it, I wonder? (raises eyebrow) Maybe a certain Kiera Knightly fangirl?

Protesting is pointless. I know that sounds pessimestic, but...look at me. What did you think I was going to say?
All a government needs to do is turn a deaf ear and protests mean nothing. Major civil disobedience is the only thing that really changes things, and 9/11 pretty much scared all the disobedience out of everyone.

Remember when we used to call everyone in mainstream culture "sheep" when we were teens? I miss the days when we were just dumbass kids for saying that.

At least sheep are all wooly and fun to hug.

What? They are. I hugged one at a petting zoo, once.

Meh. I'd rather attend a protest than sit on my ass in front of a computadora (like I am now).

And, sometimes, there are certain things not even teh gov't can ignore. There are loopholes in every system, and while the system often uses those loopholes to commit specified acts behind society's cumulative back, the individual can use those same loopholes against the system.

^I always wanted to do that. :D

Back on topic... Fuck teh System.
