Bedford is a suburb about 10 miles southeast of Cleveland. The former PRR Cleveland Line runs through here, now opperated by Norfolk Southern. Bedford is located at CP 110 on the Cleveland Line and not only features NS, but also the Cleveland Commercial Railroad. The Cleveland Commercial Railroad is a railroad that opperates weekday trains in the afternoon, they come through Bedford at around 4-5 PM and carries scrap metal to a steel plant. As i said, the train only opperates on weekdays, so if you go to Bedford on a weekend and dont see the CCR train, that is no surprise. other than that, the NS line runing through here can provide you with plenty of train action, for around 60 trains per day. The spot that railfans go to mostly in Bedford is at the so-called "Tot Lot" where you can park next to a little plaground and then just walk up to the sidewalk by the train tracks and just watch the trains roll by. for indications of trains coming, you can check the CP 110 Signals right in front of the West Glendale Ave grade crossing for westbound trains, and for eastbounds, you can pick up the defect detector at milepost 112.6 if you have a scanner. a benifit about Beford is that this is a great place for pictures and videos, so when you are here, make sure you get some good pictures.
