Now, before all else: USE THIS WIKI if you need Raildex references. This is an RP based on that series, so might as well. Here's the signups/forms post. ~Plot~ Academy City- a place where science is free to expand and develop, where the technology has improved by leaps and bounds... And the development of 'espers'. Students flock to the city in order to become 'espers', who have the ability to use supernatural abilities to manipulate the world. Academy City's primary focus is on espers, and thus schools in the city take pride in producing the'strongest' Level 5 espers. To this day, the city strives to make further breakthroughs in the development of these espers. At the same time, the magicians of the Churches across the world are handling their own matters. These magicians, stemming back from ages past, have shown their interest in Academy City. While most are content with watching the city grow, there are a few curious enough to infiltrate the city and see how it is for themselves. Science does not yet know of the existence of 'Magic', but the events set forth by this chain of events could very well change Academy City (and the world) forever. ~Setting~
Here's a map for reference and a page for more info: Spoiler: click to toggle The school where many of the students involved in the RP is the Higashikata complex, which is a joint middle and high school. Located in District 7 (near the border of it and District 15), the complex is relatively large, with five floors, two outdoor fields and an outdoor pool. On the first floor, there are two wings- an east and a west wing, wherein the first and second-grade middle schoolers take their classes. On the second floor, there is the cafeteria and the classroom for the middle school third graders and the high school freshmen take their classes. On the third, the library and the next two grades; on the fourth, the cafeteria and the senior classes (and a few storage rooms). The fifth floor is half taken up by a library and the other half by a science lab (wherein experiments are conducted). The larger field is in the back of the school, along with a large pool nearby. The dorms are roughly five minutes away, separated into a male and female dorm (which are on opposite sides of the street). They are more or less apartment complexes that allow two students to share a room; each dorm has two separate rooms with two futons (one in each), a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. They're pretty barren otherwise unless the students wish to alter it themselves. Note: Here's a sketch of the school uniform for the spring/summer. The winter version has longer sleeves for both versions and a longer skirt (up to a little over knee-length) for the girls. "I don't -have- a parent to sign for me." Rosanna says. She is visibly agitated at the mention of immediate family and simply glares at the officer after speaking. |

After jarring for some reason, Ringo’s hand fell off of the earpiece as he was about to argue with the person talking to him about being shot at. He spotted one of the darts in his arm. Then watched as the girl he ran into just a moment ago ran up to him. Ringo heard her yelling something about judgement. She got close and said “I am Sokoyami Kurumia of Judgement and I’m placing you under arrest for the charges of“. Ringo goes back to looking at the dart. The girl keep talking. Ringo zones back in at “Do you have anything to say for yourself?” Ringo just starts to laugh and says “ahh so this is science. I am sorry i don’t have too much to say Sokoyami. Besides I’m pretty sure dart boards don’t talk. Oh wait, there is one thing. If you could do me favor, could you press this thing in my head and tell them I have decided to return quietly.”

Shuuki crossed her arms, watching the spectacle unfold before her. "How rude. I came prepared and everything.....oh well." The bored girl swung her hat on a finger, tucking it firmly under her arm. Her pivot in the opposite direction never hinted at a sleight of hand. A single card floated to the ground, marked with the joker's face. Shuuki vanished herself back into the crowds, humming a jaunty tune with her wandering. She meet those fools again. But for now, they had to survive their mistakes. The first thing on Shuuki's mind was to find a hot water dispenser. Hot tea meant the hot air would feel less hot. Her thermus was low too. Harusaki smiled, nodding slowly. No movement came from her mouth, but seemlessly, Hizashi could hear her voice clear as day. <Your siblings don't have limits, do they? No worries, I have pretty good control right now. The building's fairly free of thoughts. I can concentrate on yours.> It was a serile feeling, light and airy. Like an inner dialgue, but with echos bouncing around the nerves in Hizashi's head. Harusaki sat tight, closing her eyes. Looking at her, the tension was clear. Harusaki heaved a heavy sigh. The calm, quiet exterior grew more nervous. Harusaki could have sworn her nerves turned to stone, but this was normal in concentrating far into a person's mind. <Just relax, whatever I see, is kept secret. Hopefully I won't touch anything too private.> The esper power started its work. Her eyelids almost felt like a movie screen, images flooding rapidly to Harusaki's brain. All of them belonged to Hizashi. |

As the green-haired boy fell to the ground, the Anti-Skill member that had been chasing him quickly put his hands into a pair of plastic handcuffs before lifting the boy up and hauling him back to the van for... Well, questioning later. The Anti-Skill member thanked Kurumia for her work as he did so, which left Youko standing there. The one girl that that was left seemed to have been aggravated by is words, but at the same time... "Well, that may be so but I cannot help you with that. Since you are not from Academy City, you must have had a guardian at one point or another." Youko said before someone behind Rosanna responded. -------------- Hizashi immediately tensed up as Harusaki's voice resounded in his mind, looking around as the voice bounced around in his mind before staring back at Harusaki. As she spoke, though, he gradually relaxed a bit and let her probe into his mind. As she ran through his memories, it was almost as if he viewed them all over again as she did. The occasional spike in pain from the execution of a particularly bad experiment occurred every now and then, which caused him to yell in pain. However, as the process progressed those memories (along with the rest of them) seemed to have clouded over. Sighing, he waited for Harusaki to finish up whatever it was that she was doing. He was sure that she was trustworthy enough to do so, though he couldn't remember why exactly. Smiling, Seishirou stared at the screen as Harusaki used her powers on his little brother. "Ah, this works. This works quite well..." he said, smirking ath the computer screen. He could see the impulses of Hizashi's brain change, slowly but surely. "Neurological development lab, here I come!" |

A tall man dressed in a dark cloak walked up to the member of Anti-Skill that had been talking to Rosanna, holding a multitude of bags in his hands. Sighing, he placed the bag on the ground and looked at the man in front of him. "May I ask, perchance, what is going on here?" he asked the officer, tapping his foot in annoyance. "I'm looking over the papers she handed me just now, if you must know." the officer responded, looking up at the man who had just arrived. "Given you're response, you must be..." "Her guardian, yes. Now then... Rosanna, let me look at those papers for a second." he said, taking the papers from Rosanna and skimming them over. Sighing, he whipped out a pen from inside his cloak and rapidly filled out the rest of the form before handing it back to the officer. "On that note, I've already submitted the documentation to let her become a resident of this city." Eyeing him carefully, the officer walked to the Anti-Skill van and returned, this time with a computer. "Just to be sure, I'll need some identification that you are this girl's guardian, Mr..." "Rhinesmith. My name is Jacob Rhinesmith. And certainly." the cloaked man responded before handing over a British driver's license. "I believe this should be enough." Scanning the documentation and the license into the computer, the officer nodded and handed the license back to the cloaked man before moving to return the computer back to its original location. As he did, Jacob called out to the man. "Wait! While you're here, could I ask if you could find if a girl by the name of Maria Murona is nearby?" "That shouldn't take too long." the officer responded before activating his earpiece and contacting an Anti-Skill officer near the podium. "Could I ask if you could try and find a 'Maria Murona' on the school grounds? Her guardian is here and she may have snuck in through the gate." the officer asked. The officer on the other side of the line nodded and took a megaphone. Walking to the top of the podium, he asked for permission from the principal to speak and, when given that opportunity, yelled out to the crowd of people nearby. "Excuse me! Is there a person by the name of Maria Murona in here at the moment? Your guardian is waiting for you at the front gate! That will be all." the officer said before stepping down from the podium and returning the megaphone to its original position. Maria poked her head out from behind the gate after hearing the announcement, carefully looking around for whoever had called her there. "He..hello?" she asked, looking at the people in front of the gate "Di...did someone need to see me?" she asked timidly before Jacob walked up to her. With a wide grin, he kneeled down to speak. "Maria, don't be scared; I'm just here to..." Just as he started to talk, Maria ducked back behind the gate, shaking. Scared of the tall man, she wondered what he could want with her before Jacob slowly moved back around the corner towards her. With an awkward smile he began to speak to her once more. "Maria, it's me- Jacob. We where supposed to meet at the airport, and I'm just here to make sure your papers are correct." Nodding, Maria pulled out her papers and handed them to Jacob. Looking them over, Jacob quickly filled out a few unfinished sections before returning them to Maria. Smiling, he waved to Maria as he gave her some parting words as she ran back into the crowd to hide. "Go on and have fun at school, alright?" |

The machine beeped, hot water pouring into Shuuki's cup of instant ramen. Such simplicities charmed her. At least this invention was proper science. It sustained, not destroyed, even as processed and unhealthy as it is. The girl brought the now steaming cup to her nose and inhaled the scent. This would become typical cuisine for the next few months, she assumed. Of course, she'd have to sort out the issue of her schooling. The sheep relied too much on the sheperd to provide grass. Shuuki knew if she was going to get anywhere, she had to act normal. Her shoes clapped softly against the empty hall's floor. Those fools outside had never seen technology like this. A warm smile crossed the magician's face. "I must not be alone. I wonder what packs are here, hiding in the wool." Tourists came willingly and knew what to expect. That green haired boy was obviously like her...forced into her situation. The difference lay in her preparedness. Shuuki spent time in the city...the boy, had not. Slurping up a stream of artificial goodness, Shuuki rounded a corner just outside the school building. The sunlight wasn't the only thing she was bathed in at this point. A grunt exited from her when she planted her stance, taking hot soup to skin and cloth. Her eyes fixed on the person she bumped into in the opening midst of the crowd. A girl, looking nervous and shy...and now probably covered in hot soup. After the test, Harusaki made an obviously disgusted frown, speaking again only to Hizashi. "Your siblings are sick and twisted. Guess that's why they're scientists." She spoke plainly, hinting at just how common it was for science to be a sort of disturbing excuse for extreme desires. She slipped off her headphones, shaking her head slightly to restore her hair back to some normality. Her eyes met Hizashi's for a second, showing some sympathy in them. A blink changed them to stern and bored, whipping now in Sei's direction. "So, what outlier have you found in the data this time?" Harusaki crossed her arms. "I have a feeling that your...experiments may have triggered a sort of...wild Esper growth, honestly." She peered at Hizashi again. "Sounds like you have an interesting power...considering the needle shot like a bullet. Velocity? Aerohand? Maybe Vector Control?" |

Hizashi shuddered and rubbed his head a bit as Harusaki pulled out of his head, the cloudiness fading away and his head returning to... Well, 'normal'. "Well, I can't really... Deny that, to be honest. I can't remember when they started, and i haven't a clue when they'll stop. Like now, for example." he said, glaring at Seishirou. "On the contrary, my little brother." Seishirou interjected as he finished staring at the screen. "The results are more than enough for what I need! Who needs alteration when memory probing does the job fine as is!" "What...?" "Oh, never mind that, experiment complete! I've gotten all the data I need from this test, so I just need that Level 0 up here and see if he can stop whatever you're going to be pulling." Before Hizashi could ask what his brother was going on about, Seishirou pulled out a microphone jutting from his desk and, pressing a nearby button, spoke into it. "Kiku Inoue, could I ask if you could come to the second floor cafeteria please? Thank you~!" he said before letting go of the button and turning back to Hizashi. "In the meantime... Hizashi, your power's come in as... Well, Vector Control, as Ms. Kawazu here has said, seems to be your power. It's not exactly a name that rolls off the tongue, but hey! Works for you, right?" "Vector Control...? I'll just call it Accelerator, because it sounds a lot nicer than 'Vector Control'." Hizashi responded before tossing the towel he was given into the air and firing it off with his new ability. "This... I could get used to this." Trailing off, he turned back to Harusaki, a slight smile still on his face. "Hm... So, after this is all over, could you show me around the school before we're all dismissed for today? From what I know, today's supposed to be exclusively tests and orientation to the school and such." Edited by PKMNB0Y, Aug 14 2014, 07:09 PM.

Felix felt his eye twitch as he heard his full, real name announced over the broadcast system. He was damned sure he told them to change it in his files, but like always, going through the proper channels didn't seem to work...at all. With a sigh, He sheathed his shovel and wiped the dirt from his arms. The garden would have to wait for another day. With his shovel on his back, Felix started walking keeping to himself and away from others. One wrong move, and someone's powers stopped working, and when people's powers stopped working, people got pissed. When people got pissed, they go after the one who made them angry...which happened to be himself most of the time. Thankfully, Felix had avoided people for most of his life, and despite his large frame, he was fairy good at avoiding getting close enough to people to turn off their powers. |

Ringo laid in the van waiting for the dirty dirty poison to wear off. He noticed a bolt in the floor of the van. He placed his handcuffs chain over it. He waited for no one to be looking at him. He then used his magic expand the head of the bolt in between the links in the handcuffs snapping them apart. He then pretended to be waking up. Sitting up, clearly spread his arms apart in a big fake yawn. The two Anti-Skill member in the front seats of the van both saw him spread his arm in the mirrors. The both turned to him and yelled “HOW DID YOU BREAK YOUR HANDCUFFS!?” Ringo pretended to be surprised and said “look at that! It’s a mystery! Oh hey I know that voice. You were the one talking to me in the ear thingmabob. Can I ask you two things? Where does one get this paperwork I need for the school? Next thing is, ‘Ringo voice changed too sounding angry ’WAS A THREE CENTIMETER PIECE OF PLASTIC WORTH SHOOTING AT ME AND POISONING ME!?'” Afterwards, Ringo rolled backwards hitting the back of his head then, covering his face he mumbled something about how Polarbears had more common sense than city people.

((As an FYI: the van never drove off; it was parked and Ringo's just... Well, he WAS sitting there, but then that happened.)) The Anti-Skill officers blinked in disbelief, looking at the broken handcuffs, then at each other, and then to the boy. "He's a foreigner, right?" "Has to be... But how did he break out, then? Faulty cuffs?" "Has to be." As the two finished their discussion, one of the officers walked to the back of the van and quickly placed another pair of cuffs onto Ringo's wrists. "There are two answers to your questions: the long one and the short one. The short one is that you need your original school to obtain the papers for transferring to Academy City and that what you did just now was considered 'assault', which I am sure you are aware of. That warrants necessary force to stop any sort of issue from getting out of hand. Anyways, since it's illegal to enter or exit the city without a guardian if you are under 18, you'll have to wait for a parent or guardian to sort the issue out. Due to your actions today, however, there's a decent chance that you might be banned from the area... Depending on how this goes with the higher ups, of course." ((Nothing goes through the proper channels! Ever! Who needs those when you have automatic file input into the system?)) |
