Now, before all else: USE THIS WIKI if you need Raildex references. This is an RP based on that series, so might as well. Here's the signups/forms post. ~Plot~ Academy City- a place where science is free to expand and develop, where the technology has improved by leaps and bounds... And the development of 'espers'. Students flock to the city in order to become 'espers', who have the ability to use supernatural abilities to manipulate the world. Academy City's primary focus is on espers, and thus schools in the city take pride in producing the'strongest' Level 5 espers. To this day, the city strives to make further breakthroughs in the development of these espers. At the same time, the magicians of the Churches across the world are handling their own matters. These magicians, stemming back from ages past, have shown their interest in Academy City. While most are content with watching the city grow, there are a few curious enough to infiltrate the city and see how it is for themselves. Science does not yet know of the existence of 'Magic', but the events set forth by this chain of events could very well change Academy City (and the world) forever. ~Setting~
Here's a map for reference and a page for more info: Spoiler: click to toggle The school where many of the students involved in the RP is the Higashikata complex, which is a joint middle and high school. Located in District 7 (near the border of it and District 15), the complex is relatively large, with five floors, two outdoor fields and an outdoor pool. On the first floor, there are two wings- an east and a west wing, wherein the first and second-grade middle schoolers take their classes. On the second floor, there is the cafeteria and the classroom for the middle school third graders and the high school freshmen take their classes. On the third, the library and the next two grades; on the fourth, the cafeteria and the senior classes (and a few storage rooms). The fifth floor is half taken up by a library and the other half by a science lab (wherein experiments are conducted). The larger field is in the back of the school, along with a large pool nearby. The dorms are roughly five minutes away, separated into a male and female dorm (which are on opposite sides of the street). They are more or less apartment complexes that allow two students to share a room; each dorm has two separate rooms with two futons (one in each), a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. They're pretty barren otherwise unless the students wish to alter it themselves. Note: Here's a sketch of the school uniform for the spring/summer. The winter version has longer sleeves for both versions and a longer skirt (up to a little over knee-length) for the girls. "Akio, huh? I'm Hizashi Yazawa. It's a pleasure to meet you." he said before noticing Harusaki beginning to move elsewhere. Quickly following nearby, Hizashi stared at his hands and sighed. "I never thought that things like powers would exist... Always thought that was some fantasy magic kind of stuff..." he muttered to himself before he noticed Akio's panicked voice. Turning around, he looked at his new roommate and laughed a bit. "Yeah, guess that's to be expected. Remember my brother's blathering about power negation? Well, when he shoved us out we all got into that guy's... Well, 'negation aura', as I'd like to think of it. You'll be a normal person for a while because of it, so don't try anything too crazy." he said before remembering Seishirou's earlier comments. "Actually... Given my brother's airheadedness on anything not related to science, it's pretty likely he didn't get you set up for-" As he said that, Hizashi turned to the intercom as a message was broadcasted down the halls. "Akio Akagi, we know you're in the school right now. Could you please report outside for your annual System Scan? Thank you." Stifling a laugh, Hizashi looked at Akio and shrugged. "Welp. Good luck." |

A chuckle rang out as Shuuki tugged away from Rosanna. Despite the now drying mess of soup on her front, Shuuki appeared unruffled. There were more important things to deal with. There were two magicians standing beside her, and she knew it. The patterns of speech, the uncertainty, and the lack of restraint only augmented her theroy. In this city, powers were not enough to distinguish the unique. Everyone had one...even the level 0's apparently. What they were was based on chance. Shuuki relished the thought. How cute that these sheep only have one skillset. But she was talking to goats. They were no wolves...not yet. "Unless you have a map, miss Rosanna...you may want to follow. Those lights were quite dazzling. Wouldn't you agree, Vax?" Shuuki's awkward, toothy grin faced Ringo for half a second before she swiftly jarred herself into another direction, strolling slow and causal. Just a corner's round was all she needed to clean, and to lead them to her classroom...if alll else failed. "Well that was fast. They're really chasing the bullets this year on scans." Harusaki fiddled with a curled lock of hair near her ear. Almost boredly, she lead them toward the scan office. If this boy was latching to her, then she'd stay latched to someone she knew. An ironic twist of fate, really. With the same amount of dry enthusiasm Harusaki spoke. "You could hardly call them powers...not in the traditional sense. The Esper Program trains us into maintaining a certain brainwave pattern. Electromagnetic signals of a very specific kind are created and manifest in some bizzare control over them. Camoflogue, x-ray vision, and especially electromancy are prime examples of espers brainwaves syncing up finely with such waves. We control them as if extensions of our own minds." It wasn't a detailed description, not was it full, but it got the job done. Some powers were hard to explain, especially those of infamous Gemstones. And then...there was Felix. Harusaki's eyes narrowed just thinking about him. Didn't take much more than an afterimage of his mug to throw her off. "That kid, no one understands how he works. My guess is as good as the rumorhounding bloggers. Perhaps he's actually an out of control esper. Wouldn't it be easy to assume he just emitted static? A million different waves on the spectrum, perhaps?" Harusaki kept eye contact away from the new boy, almost hiding the disappointment in her face. The Brain was her field of study, a subject she studied hours upon hours a day normally. It was the reason she ascended to level 5 so quickly. And yet, here she was, as lost as a child. Again, she focused on the path ahead. The silence echoed in her footsteps, harsh against the concrete. At least her mind was free to absorb in itself...for now. |

Hizashi cocked his head to the side at Harusaki's explanation, trying to make sense of the series of statements in his mind. The logic didn't quite mesh well with him, but it seemed kind of simplistic at the same time. It was strange, if anything. "So... They're not quite powers in the sense of fantasy abilities, but simply a manipulation of waves... That seems... Weird. Though to be fair, every law of physics that had been established prior has been broken and Newton's crying in his grave right now, so it doesn't seem all that out there. I would ask more, but I have a feeling that everything necessary will be taught during classes anyhow." he said to nobody in particular before turning to Akio. "So... Any clue how to get you out of this mess?" |

((This is a joined collab between Nora, Cirno, and myself)) ((Bluh - Nerah)) ((Wit - Werfmer)) ((Rad - Chirunoh Yes sir Cirno!)) Finally. Rosanna thinks as Shuuki finally releases her grasp on Rosanna. The relief is short-lived however as her hand is immediately grabbed by the green haired boy. While shaking Rosanna’s hand, Ringo said “Hello my name name is Ringo. Where do you both hail from?“ “That’s for you to never know, and for me to not give a damn!” Shuuki grinned coyly. “But I must say, you must be from outside the country.” Her head tilted. “Is green a natural hair color?” “I have no particular desire to disclose that information to you.” Rosanna replies coldly, subtly trying to pull her hand free from Ringo. Ringo, letting go of Rosanna’s hand to rub the top of his head said “Wow both are so quick and cold about that. Must be one of them girl things. As for the hair, well it is natural when everything tends to blow up around you.” Rosanna rubs the hand that was released in her other hand as she stands in careful attention to the two before her. “Oh? Is it a chemical explosion?” Shuuki leaned in, hands pressed firmly behind her back. “Hmmmm...I call it women’s intuition. There’s something I like about you, Vax!” Ringo rolling his eyes away for a second said “Anyway, you said something about A-6 right? I am going that way as well. As far as i can tell though it is not on this floor, it must be on another. I saw some pretty creepy stuff in here already so I’m going to try and head there as fast as I can.” You don’t even know the half of it. Rosanna thinks bitterly, glaring at Ringo as she remembers how she was tossed against the wall earlier. “Good~” Shuuki smiled. “I’ll come with you. I’m oh so curious about these explosions. Where was it you were from again?” The smile grew sincere, but creepy in its toothiness. Oh I am from Devon Island in Canada, eh? It gets a little cold there but, it’s worth it. As for the explosions, They just kind of happen around me.” He throws up his hands as he exclaims “I have nothing to do with them however! But, yes, they were chemical. Anywho, how about you? what room are you wandering to Rosanna?" “Interesting coincidence, Vax.” Shuuki started walking toward the classroom. “Now, let’s hurry. Wouldn’t want to be late….would we, classmate?’ “I’m on the floor above, so I think I’ll separate here.” Rosanna states as she walks off to hopefully retrieve her dropped parasol from the hole in the wall. Mr. Torame sighed, massaging his forehead as he walked back to the front doors of the school building. He had left for a few seconds to deal with a little altercation between students, but when he returned he had found that someone had slipped into the school when he wasn't looking. He had checked the cameras in the school soon after, only to find that the person in question was Akio Akagi, whom he promptly called out of the school. Sighing, he walked back to his original position and turned away from the doors before noticing two unfamiliar students (or so he assumed) headed his way. Sighing, he looked at the two with a hint of tiredness as he crossed his arms. "I apologize, but students should remain outside for today. The building is in use by some scientists while we run the System Scan, so you're currently not allowed within here unless you have a legitimate reason to do so." he stated to the two firmly before staring at them. "Sorry, but I can't let you two by right now otherwise." |

Ringo looks up slightly while tossing his arms up into the air as if embracing an invisible cloud. Then saying “thank you! Finally someone with answers.” Then turning his head to Shuuki and saying with a light voice “no offense.” After that, he put his arms back down and straighten out his head as he started walking toward Torame. As he got close he put his hand out in front of himself to try to shake Torame’s hand. Then, introducing himself to Torame. Right after that, Ringo saying “yes, I have many legitimate reason for being in here today, some more painful than others. Also, What in the world is a system scan?”

"Ah geez, did they really track me down personally for that scan? Hah, well maybe now I know what it's like to be stalked myself" he said, glancing in Harusaki's direction. "Good to know the power down is only temporary. I'm sure I can manage for a little while. Yeah, I don't think I'll ever quite understand fully how esper powers work myself." Akio was never terribly studious in general, much less in the field of brainwaves. While his grades were always respectable and he liked to consider himself decently intelligent, school and studying just weren't very high on his priority list. "Hmm, I guess I'm the one being followed for a change. If you don't wanna follow me for that stupid scan, I'll catch up with you later once my power comes of cooldown or whatever. I don't mind." |

For a moment, Shuuki was able to walk with Ringo without a word said between them. Rosanna had gone off all on her lonesome...for now. Her interest wasn't off the strange group yet. Such a pity the little one got away. Her mission now was to determine what church these fools all came from. Of course, that was assuming her hunch was correct. The girl highly doubted, in fact laughed at the idea these new students were so clueless. It was poor training. Shuuki studied hard before setting foot in this shit soaked pen. Amusment was the only word apt for describing the entire situation. When the pair was greeted by a...less than kind ram, Shuuki frowned in disgust. Ringo's reaction didn't help. He didn't even know what a system scan was? How pathetic could you get!? Shuuki coughed once and approached the teacher. Addressing Ringo quickly, her head turned. "It's the esper test, silly~" That cute tone did not match the intense glare coming from the eccentric girl. Her eyes showed flecks of gold in the lght as she stared, until a flick of the neck faced her to the teacher again. He got a much more friendly smile. Shuuki causally leaned sideways, bobbing boredly back and forth. "Hmmm, we were on our way to A-6, good sir. That's where we were told to go. Besides..." Shuuki pointed to her uniform. "...A clumsy girl made a mess of your fine uniforms. I need to clean up, look my best for the first day~" She put on her cutest smirk. "You wouldn't want your students looking shabby, would you?" She stood up straight again, as if nothing had been said. "But if I must, where again may I sign up for roommates again? Me and Rosanna White would actually like a room together if that's arrangeable." This of course was a lie, but with that display of magic, Shuuki had to find out more. Now it was time for the adult to boss her around again...if he dared. "I'm more curious, if anything, Akio." Harusaki replied plainly. "How often do you get a chance to study blocked esper powers anyway? That kid's been confusing me since he showed up. Time to really see what makes his special power tick." Harusaki peered down the halls as they neared the stairs. "With all the new students showing up, might be safer just as well. Afterwords I have no clue what I'll do until sundown." Harusaki pulled a length of her brown hair. "Ah...I wish classes would start already." To tell the truth, a library with clearly thinking students was better than a street with possibly rude and rowdy skill-outs. |

"It's no big deal; my stuff's done already, and I've got nothing else to do in the school, really. And hey- you're my future roommate, after all." Hizashi said, casually sliding down the railing of the stairwell and looking back up at the others. "I'll meet you up front; need to grab my stuff real quick." Nodding to the other two, Hizashi quickly walked forwards to go and retrieve his luggage. ------------ Mr. Torame stared at Ringo in irritation, eyeing him over quickly before sighing and shaking his head in annoyance. "You... You're new here, aren't you? Anyways... A System Scan is-" he began before the girl next to the boy explain it for him. Turning to the girl, Mr. Torame looked at the stain on Shuuki's uniform and sighed. "Well... Can't be helped then. Shower's in the back. Though... 6-A is on the sixth floor, so I'd doubt that you'd be called up there. That aside, dorms are assigned up near the front where the podium that the principal was at." Turning around, Mr. Torame opened the door and noticed Hizashi standing there. "Erm... Where's my luggage?" Hizashi asked, looking around the locker area. "Ah... It's over there." Mr. Torame responded, pointing to a small alcove nearby. "Go and take it whenever. By the way, where is that Akio boy...?" he asked. Hizashi smiled and shrugged. "Should be down here soon." he responded as he walked over to his belongings and picked them up. |
