The Best and Worse Book to Film Adaptations If you don't understand what I mean, I'm refering to books or written works that have been made into Films; let it either be cartoon, real life or what ever else. So what do you think is one of the best film adaptations and even what you think is worst film adaptation? I personally believe that Howl's Moving Castle (Studio Ghibli - Hayao Miyazaki) was a great example of a film based on a book. Absolutely brought the book to life with utter perfection. What can I say... One of the adaptations I really like is Lord of the Rings. Very well made, full of action, actors suit their chars. |

Best Adaptation I'd have to say Chronicles of Narnia. One could just read the story and watch the movie, and find no difference, no conflict of event as such. Worst is Avengers The Movie that released about two weeks ago. Story is crap, doesn't have the slightest resemblance to the original comic except if you count the characters Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. And that too if you consider them apart from the whole movie. Character of Bruce Banner, Loki, that arrow guy and that chick, while there were some elements resembling the original story, most of those characters were horribly tweaked to meet the movie. |

Tbh, I think anyone who has read either A) The Hunger Games OR B) Eragon (Inheritance Cycle) and then seen the movies, has been thoroughly disappointed. I personally haven't read Harry Potter (GAWSH, Ikright? (going to over the summer) but the movies seem like they follow suit, or at least I haven't heard otherwise. |
