Wait, if i think about it once more, it should need to add only one negative region condition as the and-not-condition, this needs a trigger per kingdom-settlement then ... should be better, as the title is kept in my example above until Saxons lost all the settlements ;)

One-settlement-condition triggers: Means, if one of the regions of the united kingdom is lost, the title is lost.

6 lose triggers, no big deal, or?

Luckily i was able to work on my PC a bit and here is an update of the map:
http://rapidshare.com/files/141991634/VI2_map.rar.html
some province border adjusted, some bridges moved, some trees removed... so that there can be roads between cities, there is only one problem with Lindisfarne - it's on the islnad and curently don't have a road connection with other provinces or with it's own port - what should we do with it?

Hmm...got a CTD a few turns in :(

Can't see how these files would do that but nothing else has changed

EDIT: Forgot to regenerate HGT file, maybe that was the cause? Will keep an eye out for CTDs ;)

Thx. Uranos.

I could just block roads from being built on Lindisfarne?

99% sure it's not because of those changes (regenerating HGT file isn't needed).

Lindisfarne - if you don't want to have a road connection between the island and England then i suggest just moving it's port on the island so at least there is a sea trade and rest leaving as it is.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Uranos, apart from the border-tweaking, did you do anything else on map_regions?

Also, any chance we can tweak the shape of the region itself? It's settlement is a settlement on the coast and it goes as deep as half-way inland...

Thx.

Pal, slight typo in the alliance message: "Your Majesty, These blabla..." needs a lower-case 't'.

EDIT: Playing a campaign as Wessex on M/M and finding it quite easy. Maybe it's that after intimidating the Danes after turn 2, they agreed to a peace, soon after lost Kent and then packed and went home. But I think what makes things very easy is the ability to recruit 0-turn mercs, I just build a 1st tier inn and then when I'm attacked I can have 9 solid units in a turn. That's also the reason some AI factions expand like crazy I think.

I believe we should either make 0-turn merc units way more expensive to compensate for this, or make them quite smaller.

I have run an ai test and no CTDs.

The Vikings (playing as norwegians) are still getting the odd un-religioned FM. I think the christian trait is not kicking in for them still.

Mercia seems strong still. Wessex should be stronger, and Mercia a little weaker.

0-turn recruitment will always be a problem whatever I guess - tweak away costs etc. ;)

I'm sort of busy this week but still reading...

I can't see a mistake in the triggers, but I'll look closer and test again.

I'll tweak away, both costs and unit sizes probably.

Will also balance Mercia and Wessex out.

EDIT: Characters not born when the campaign starts don't seem to get the Viking-Conversion trait for some reason... I'll have to find another way...

Also: Alba needs to be made stronger.

Hi, got it installed now. Is there any faction in particular that is lacking testers, or should I just choose freely? Also, what is the recommended difficulty levels?

Welcome Bovi. Good to see you here.

I always test everything on the default medium - um, that's "Marauder" in VI2 parlance ;)

I think the Irish and Welsh have been tested the most. I think Alba has been played the least afaik.

Make sure you have patched up to patch 1 before playing.

Thx for being willing to try it out :)

Okay, I'll be ending my Welsh campaign now then :P. I get a CTD every other battle, so there appears to be a missing sprite somewhere. The units involved have been the Welsh bodyguards, spearmen, longbowmen, peasants, horsemen (basically what you start out with and the forces in the closest free settlements). In the last battle I also used mercenaries: archers, horsemen and rabble.

Edit: LIGHT horsemen.

Bovi, are you sure?

VI2 has not suffered any CTds in battles at all and I personally loaded up every single faction and merc unit after the sprites were done and tested them twice (as sprite errors can kick in on the second battle evidently).

No one else has reported any ctds. Did you install correctly? :(

I'll double check the slave sprites as I am not sure I tested those.

Hey,

also playing the welsh with the laterst patch. Havent had a single ctd at all.
Maybe try to reinstall.
Everything runs smothly for me (well ok I had to find out that it is really hard  )
The only thing that saved me from total bankrupcy was that the large town of "Cridiantun" rebel towards me.

Only problems I saw thus far are some pathfinding issues on the strat map (AI ships getting stuck) and a excidental landbridge in the Mouth of the Seoern, but I think Aradan allready corrected that.
Should I start a new campaign with the men of Alba or continue with the Welsh? (currently at 900AD)

Bovi & all,

model_sprite goths, 60.0, bi/vi2/data/sprites/goths_welsh_light_horse_sprite.spr

SHOULD BE

model_sprite goths, 60.0, bi/vi2/data/sprites/goths_welsh_light_horseman_sprite.spr

Doh! What idiot coded the DMB....oh, um..me. :D

DMB updated.

I cannot see how I never got this ctd though, maybe the CTD for sprites kicks in on the second battle if it is the next battle played (I autoresolve most and probably never had any back to back).

Thx Bovi for being a battler ;)

Anallein, I think all factions need testing - it's just that the welsh and irish have been more popular (can't think why when one can play Wessex... ;) )
