Great thing about the DMB, so we can simply eliminate all the unused model lines?

It doesn't cost us asking the guy to do our vid. Better leave that to MoN - or I can go through Anallein...

It seems so, I would imagine the little boost you'd get would compensate larger textures, or larger unit sizes. Probably not needed for this mod (or '300' really) but handy to know.

I knew about not having all the lines (I think vi2 has some missing) but not about the potential save on swap-time...

I'll tidy up the dmb when I get back.

Aradan, it'd be great if you want to contact QC - I am busy today as well as packing :) I have the VI victory and loss voiceovers, and music. My view would be to either get these mini-videos done (the loss ones need be no more than a few seconds, the victory ones perhaps a little longer) OR a main teaser. The first would be more important of course.

Cya all next Saturday (or later Friday night)...

It'd be nice if we could get a release ready for campaign balancing - complete with cards & Scandinavia & unit descriptions by mid August. This will give a good month for testing and be availble to all of you ;)

Added info on unit class, starting exp, range and ammo in unit descriptions (export_units.txt)

Antag, if you want to work directly on the file for the descriptions, let me know and I'll upload it for you.

How much time would it take to make a mod_switch version of VI2 for RTW 1.2 with only custom battle units, our lighting, skies and grass?

No idea, never modded 1.2, I don't know the differences. It doesn't matter anyway, we have talked on msn a couple of times, and he's very busy with other stuff for now, so there's no chance he will do it for a period of time. Seleukosart (the other RTR video guy) is busy too with RTR-related stuff... FATW guys are absent/busy... I would PM Toboe (talented guy) but last time I did, for FATW, he said yes and then disappeared... Are there any other candidates?

Intro I'd go for simple text on a BG, you could have the premise of the mod as a text with a narration and music for something a bit different, it could be quite classy if done right, and is fairly simple to do..

Thx for contacting Filip, Aradan - and for the EU initiative.

I will look into that idea, Halie. Keeping it simple is the idea and this mod will have more of an effect in simulating MTW:VI by keeping it so.

Uranos - what is the likelihood of Scandinavia being done in about a week? How are unit cards progressing? I am using an axe rather than cartwheel for the horde symbols btw (though you can leave those out and I can make them from the non-horde units if you do not have time).

Antag - any idea of a time for unit description completion? (again, keep it simple). Still need a brief intro for Alba too, or I can do it if you do not have time; I'm wondering if we should call the faction "Albans" in line with the convention used with all the other factions. At the moment it is the rather long-winded Kingdom of the People of Alba.

I am tying up a lot of loose ends and making a lot of fine tweaks to various elements of the game.

The mod is looking strong and clean - no CTDs - and is on schedule.

On the way, I did a few and then did nothing on them for two weeks (sorry) but I hope to finish up this week. I'm trying to be concise and to the point, but still make them sound interesting. A brief intro on Alba is no problem. As for the name, I would try maybe "Men of Alba" which is the direct translation of how they would have been referred to in Gaelic.

There is one problem with Skiringssal - according to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skiringssal
and its links the settlement should be somewhere near the southern coast - not far in the land - so maybe the province should be the eastern part of Norway not the nrthern? Currently there is no connection between the city and port due to the mountains, but if you want the port to be in the west - i can make a pass through them.

Making the renders of the units ;)
