Later than advertised, but not, I can only hope, too late.

It still needs a final going over for editing TBH, and I left the ships section relatively untouched (not too knowledgable there) Still, that should suffice if you want to release the mod tomorrow, but I hope we have time to correct any changes which need to be made during final testing.

Thx Antagonist.

They look great. I am going to go through these, sort out the events and a few other tweaks and then get the beta 2.0 build up hopefully by abour midday tomorrow...

Then I can get on with a few other things at home while others play around with VI2...

If you know anyone who might be interested in this private beta test then let me know.

I'm thinking about florin80 - we were working together several projects lately on Res Gestae- he is a great coder adn bugfinder, and Reiksmarshal - i know him from Crusades mod, and since he is working now on 1066 mod for MTW2 - he should be also interested in VI2 mod.

ps. can't wait for beta 2.0 build ;)

Here we are, as it's just a few lines I'll post the relevant entry in campaign_descriptions:

Quote:

{BARBARIAN_INVASION_ALEMANNI_TITLE}The Kingdom of Alba
{BARBARIAN_INVASION_ALEMANNI_DESCR}Difficulty Factor: ESTIMATED DIFFICULT\n\nThe country of Alba, or Caledonia as the Romans called it, is a strange beast, home to a patchwork of kindgoms without even a language in common. After the Romans withdrew the situation was chaotic in the extreme, with the indigenous and insular Pictish people, riven by internal dissent, conflicting with the Welsh-speaking British kingdoms of the lowlands and the Gaelic kingdom of Dal Riada on the Western coast. Eventually a tentative stability emerged under a series of able Pictish monarchs who managed some degree of stable rule over their own people while overaweing the Dal Riadans and the British kingdoms who were rapidly falling to English expansion from the South. Such harmony as there was in this arrangement was uneasy, as cultural and social change (particularly Christianization and the accompanying influence of the Celtic Church, which did much to assert it's own Gaelic culture over Pictish traditions) alienates many, and the Gaelic and British protectorates were often unruly. The peace has finally been shattered by the arrival of the Vikings on their shores, and the kings of the embryo nation-state soon faced their greatest challenge. Being the area closest to home, Alba is certain to bear the brunt of Scandinavian aggression - already it's offshore islands, home to insular and conservative Pictish chiefs, have fallen to the Norsemen, who use them as staging grounds for their raids. Internal threats too are present - the British kings of Strathclyde still remain powerful and obstinate, and the conservative Pictish lords of the North and East are ever more distrustful and alarmed by the increasingly Gaelicized Kings of Pictland. The ruler of Alba, then, has many challenges - repulsing Norse and English aggression, maintaining the integrity of his own confederation and reconciling the increasing cultural gulf between his subjects, but he is not without opportunities either: Though not absolute master of Northern Britain he has no rival of comparable power, with many lands and a diverse array of forces available, as well as the powerful influence of the Celtic Church. Should he fail, he will see the land dissolved among squabbling princes, easily devoured by the expansionist Norse. But should he succeed, he may be poised to forge the first modern, unified monarchy in all Britain.
