Mm-kay, just asking the art community a question here...

After I ink something over, I try to erase the pencil marks, but the ink always smears when I do that. Any way to avoid that?

[I tried waiting for a day in case it needed to dry, same results.]

Try lightly using one of those industrial art erasers. They should be, like, tan colored. And they cost less than a dollar anywhere.

Oh, and set it under a lightly blowing fan for a few hours to let it dry. >Ink

How about doing your pencil sketch first super light before you ink it? And instead of erasing like crazy on the paper, if you do that xD, and only erase gently and slowly beside the ink lines where pencil is most noticeable.
And if your going to blow dry, set the blow dryer on warm rather than hot for safety precautions xD

Blow drying is a bad idea with ink.

i had to learn that the hard way owo

Maybe like a little hand fan, though.

I wouldn't know. x3 DON'T LISTEN TO ME AND BLOWDRYING 030
I prefer using my computer to draw/colour anyways xD Although I love to sketch/do realistic drawings with pencil.

Ooh, activity!

So... I'm just gonna flat out say I'm too lazy to blow-dry/fan anything. I'm not even patient enough to blow-dry my own hair. XD

Thanks for all the help! I could definitely stand to be lighter with the pencil and less ferocious with my eraser. And my sister has a pretty fancy looking eraser called 'artgum,' if that's what you mean, Summer.
