Wrenshadow looked up as the warrior entered his den. "Sit down here and take your weight off that paw, I'll be right back," he meowed to Opalclaw, padding to his herb storage. The first thing he found was poppies, for the pain.

Laurelpaw quickly jumped up, helping the apprentice over to a nest. "This looks bad Wrenny",The lame apprentice called from behind. She almost fell over as shetried to set the apprentice down. But, knowing her ground, she backed up after that and let the medicine cat do his work. The apprentice couldn't help but try and watch, though. She would probably never remember the half of the herbs the way Wrenshadow did. Laurelpaw moved backwards the best she could until she reached her own stationary nest for the time being. "Need anymore herbs Wrenny?",She called.

Wrenshadow returned with a poppy pod in his mouth. Gently tipping his head, he shook out three poppy seeds in front of the apprentice. "Here, eat these. It will help with the pain." As he finished that, he looked at Laurelpaw, who had been more than helpful these past few days. "Yes, actually. Could you get some rush? The paw isn't broken, but it is badly twisted- and binding it would help set it straight and let it heal." He blinked at Laurelpaw, and once again thought of his predicament. This was his first leaf-bare without his mentor Fadedepiphany, his first leaf-bare as a medicine cat. His eyes glanced back at the lame apprentice, and he rather wondered if he should take her on as an apprentice. Of course, he was going to choose one, but many other cats-kits, really- were interested in becoming a medicine cat apprentice. But he wanted to choose someone that would not be swayed from StarClan's ways, like all the other medicine cats of the other Clans have done, with the exception of Cinnamontwist, his best friend, and perhaps Radiantpaw.

ooc} that was a total guess.

The apprentice's eyes slowly lit open in a questioning way. "And . . what would that look like",She called. The outsider was already making her way over to where the herbs were kept. Hobbling the last few steps the she-cat peered down at all the herbs in front of her, awaiting an answer. Her right-front paw tapped impatiently on the ground in front of her as she swirled her tail around her side.

Wrenshadow looked at Castia. as his tail slowly twitched. "It's a bundle of sticks," he told her, not bothering with the details, for there was only one thing in his den that could be considered a pile of sticks. Besides the nest, of course. Blinking back up to the injured cat, he thought again to the herbs he should use. Before he could find those herbs out, though, he needed more answers. "How did you twist it?" he asked.

The apprentice held in a snort as she hobbled over to a lowly pile of stick-like stocks. Picking up a few she hurried as fast as she could over to the medicine cat and laid them down beside them. With that Laurelpaw padded back over and sat down in her awkward way across from all the herbs, taking time to examine them. She sighed when she realized the medicine cat was quite low on several things. Perhaps she would go out and possibly get some more. That was, if Heatstar allowed it. She rolled her eyes at the thought of facing the tom once more. Padding over, she dropped down into her nest, settling down, and tried to flip over to watch the tom do his work with little success. So she laid there, in a tangle of limbs.

Starkit had seen the cat hobble in with a twisted paw and had raced across, to see Wrenshadow working on the cat. "W-what happened to Opalclaw?! Laurelpaw?" She looked slightly confuzzled but crept across to stand beside Wrenshadow. "Oh! She has a twisted paw! How terrible... Could I do anything to help?" She mewed eagerly.
