Cousin went out tonight in tub in Cockburn sound and scored this pigeon pair.

Cheeky bugger was messaging me when the action was on whilst i'm stuck at work.

I know the garage lighting well juggler, as you can see its pretty dark and looks like pic has no flash. So no surprise they're darker.

I believe most of the cockburn mullas are river fish which come out and seek shelter during breeding periods if i'm not mistaken? So rumour has it?

Think they breed in the swan & then come out to the sound to stack on condition afterwards.
Usually they get caught in the sound on the reg mid winter though- don't they?

the one i saw pulled from the shore on friday was def a river fish.
we went out this morning from 2am til 7am for no joy. was hoping to see some fast movers come through in the morning but i had to get home to get some sleep before work.
to say it was glassy would be a massive understatement. it made ballooning almost impossible.

bzillions of finger sized tailor around, scaleys, slimeys and herring. loads of baitfish getting smashed too but no broiling.

still no shore mulla for me. soon though, very soon.

Note that they are my cousins fish.
I won't say how many they've gotten in the last week, but they've all been between 13-20kg.

Save all your leave passes til march James, then cash them all in and spend time at the beach, rivers or on a boat at wrecks. It'll most definitely come soon enough.

Full credit goes to the anglers for their skill and patience. However it makes me concerned to see so many dead ones all at one time all in one place when the fishery is still in crisis. Hope they spawned well and the re-stocking will help make up for these and keep the fishery on the up and up. I would love to be able to catch and release big Mullas in the Swan on lures like they do over East in the future.
I live with fear everyday, but sometimes she let's me FISH!

minimalist impact in my view. family of 7, doesn't last long. All can whinge, but this is why so many people don't post pics anymore for fear of being judged by others.

Fisheries set rules based on research....
People judge based on own opinion and no research...

That's all i'm going to say on the matter.
