Went out off bunno tonight. Fish were finicky but we got into em eventually.

These bad boys came in at 10kg and 92 cm :)

Smile and a double chin!!

They were not the longest fish verses their weight, but they were the fattest snapper i have ever seen. Must be feeding up before getting ready to breed

Epic catch mate! Thumpers! They definately look like fat fish.
Boys or Girls? Bottom looks possibly male? I'm sure there's one down there punching the 100cm+ mark.

about 9kms of bunno. Not sure if M or F the ground was your classic rubble n coral mix.

Got a pic when it was first caught

I have a question for you Goodie ( and all forum members) regarding identifying ground on a sounder.
I have a furuno 585 FCV; I usually have the screen split to bottom lock on the left and ( as I dont really go into waters deeper than 30 metres) right side is set to a suitable depth ( Iinfact may be auto?); gain is auto.

Could anybody give me pointers as to how to ID coral and rubble, as I would like to catch Goodies fish's big brother and sister!

Thanks all.

I am not a pro at it at all. I know it changes from sounder to sounder. In fact my mates sounder showed the ground as brown with a dark shadow.

I know in general you look for a firm ground and the the colour on top of it indicates coral rubble weed etc

The colour setting will determine how the solid structure comes up.
for example on my mates sounder he has sand showing as yellow and hard ground comes up as red. the deeper the colour between yellow and red the thicker the structure. so a dep red, almost brown, is rock.

Thanks for that chaps. Yes I do know how to recognise hard ground vs mud, weed etc; I was wondering if there is some particular indication that the ground is coral as opposed to rock?
Appreciate the replies
