When on Wednesday with Spence. The day started poorly i was up so early Maccs didnt serve breaky!

That was as bad as it got. When we hit the water we were greeted with low swell and light winds. We headed about 35 km offshore and all was quiet while we talked about finally having a day where we could head in early with a few cook dhus and fish to fill the esky up.

Then action started Spence found what he thought was Dhuies on the sounder and sure enough first drop bang I had a fish on! It was solid i suspect about 10-12 Kg i got it off the bottom and as i was fighting Spence also hooked up! You beautie double Dhuies ! That is untill my hooks pull halfway up :(

Meanwhile Spences gets his fish up and in comes a nice Dhu at 8.5 Kg smiles and pics all round we drifted again hoping to get more.

Straight away i hook up again and after a short fight up comes a nice 66 cm Dhu. Woop ! quota filled !

Now for some more demersals and it didnt take long before i pulled up a nice Breaksea. Next drift as well reveals a nice 60 cm KG too!

This is all before 9am! A few more drifts and it goes quiet but just as we are going to change area we get solid double hook ups again! This time it had us again calling for Dhus but instead after a brief battle in comes a first for me Whiskery shark!

Esky full and done by 9.30 we head in on near flat conditions after cleaning the boat.

It was a great day and a pleasure to be out, it cant always be like that but when it is, its damn good!

Nice lift into the boat goodie. I was expecting Spence to whack it in the head with a gaff for the camera
