Had a great little session on Yellowfin Whiting this morning with Wook, Lefty and Dave Bentley. Lots of sledging, Whiting so plentiful they could be spectacularly released at your fellow angler, and Wook and Lefty's pinpoint accurate casting to pick out the whiting sitting around my feet. Think I took 15 home with plenty more released, the best measuring 35cm, average around 30cm. I think the other boys probably did better. A lot of the fish were in 15-30cm of water, repeatedly smashing our surface lures and making for some exciting visual fishing on light gear. Good to meet you Lefty and Dave......... Wook, well... It's always an "experience". |

Great little session. The call from you that "i have to leave and get some sleep before work" and then it take you an hours to get in. Must have been 50 one last casts. I just took the 4 that went 32-34. Some very fat fish amoungst them. |

cant rate it highly enough dan. watching those angry little fish fight over a lure is intoxicating. we went for about 3 hours with a fish a cast, or at least the lure getting hammered pretty much every cast. i ended up with 13 in the bag up to 32cm or so and i released dozens. some just fell out of the net in the general direction of mooh's head. couldnt be helped. early on it was barren and depressing. as soon as the tide turned and the water was moving out it was like flipping a switch and the action was furious.
