In Summary, one of those places that you hear of heaps of fish being caught but requires a solid explore before you can get into the fish!

We planned on spinning and bottom bouncing for the trip. Howling easterlies greeted us and did not abate at all ever....

Sounds good in theory but even with this wind in your back it annoyed you. Standing at the bases of places like Garths the wind actually swirled down and around so it was in your face.

Worked hard for a few fish. I managed a couple of Estuary Cod, blue nose salmon, and your usual small junk fish, charlie court, moses perch and small redthroat.

Highlight of the trip was when i caught a 43 cm Red emp from Garths which made the trip!

Defiantly will be back now i understand times etc to fish.

Short report for a long trip but I drove back at 8 this morning and am a bit tired now!

Red emp from the shore, dont hear about that very often. Well done. Is that the northern version of a landbased dhuie?

Well done Goodie, at the least you came away with some good eating fillets and some more knowledge for your next trip.
Give a man a beer and he'll waste an hour. Teach him to brew and he'll waste a lifetime.

Nice to get away to warmer climates and a few fish a bonus.
