homebrewer not fishmonger

Been a while since I been fishing but since marron season started ive been giving it a red hot go.

went out on Tuesday for 3 marron over 90 mm and then again on that night to glen mervyn with the family for a night out and see what was around.

We went home empty handed but the amount of marron around is a sign of good things.

Went out Friday night after work with the neighbour to get a feed of marron as some reports floating around of marron with a head length of a coke can! although we didn't see nay that size we nailed one and came home with a feed koonacs.

on Saturday I headed out as the family was over for dinner. I got one that morning at 92mm and then all the rest were just under 80mm and I disturb a few at 90mm as the water was that shallow and clean. one was surrounded by at least 10 of them at this size. I called it quits after the one and tried a different spot in the afternoon. bagged one again and missed another that would not enter the drop net. While there though I spied a fairly large redfin that was coming very close to the marron and they would back off the baits...

I headed back the next day to find it pelleted out and no marron anywhere to be seen but the reddy was still there. I put on a orange/yellow rmg35 and cast out along the tree it was hiding. on the retrieve another one nailed it from that log. Stoked I spied that other redfin and tried again. only for it to hide in the snags and not come out. I changed lures but no return. the redfin went about 35cm

Getting a feed sorted there fish.
Not bad for a place that gets a bid of a hiding at times.

Must be more good reddies around if there are 35's about.
