Managed to sneak for a quick squid. Managed 6 in a couple hours. Tried something different for the first time ever. Put out a second rod with a float and jig. To my surprise, caught 2 on it. I caught one, then as I was putting it back out, I hooked up even before it was set up |

Got our limit with Spence last week. Some spots had nothing while others had good numbers. |

It's one thing I've done hardly any off catching squid. The few times I've tried haven't had a lot of success. Tried twice down here dedicated squid trips and failed completely. Once in the boat and once from the shore. Though I get the occasional squid or cuttlefish on a big bait when trying for Snapper etc. So supposedly something so simple and yet haven't mastered it. I suppose I should try a bit harder aye. Good catches guys. |

Been out a few times lately and have loaded the freezer with top food/bait. I love squidding, you gotta get yourself into it Dan. Youve got some thumpers down your way. Best bait I reckon. 6 is a good feed hilux. Cant beat the floats when needed. |

Sound. Cockburn banks and around the GI causeway. They are there. Just need to find them. Was in town for the CB trip so we stocked up on bait before and did a trip after to keep Spences bait stocks up. I was using a lighter jig out the back instead of the float. Caught a good number of the squid that way. |
