Dhu Executioner

Did a trip out towards west of rotto on weekend. First time at some real success despite a fast current of about 3knts. Puka and Blue eye!
Wasn’t much action on sounder this time around, but awesome structures out in the trench. Can understand it’s popularity. Ledges were unreal!

Good stuff Spence all the hours starting to pay off. How do they go for eating compared to Dhu? I've never eaten either Harpuka or Blue Eye.

Well heard mixed reports about Blue Eye. Don't believe the rumours is all i can say.
They are an easy 9/10 eating fish. Big flakes, tender, moist, not fishy at all...delicious. The only issue i see, its a lean fish and would be easy to overcook and dry out. I suspect most fisherman can't cook, so hence bad reports.

Puka i've yet to try, and i've only heard good. The fillets didn't look as good as blue eye, so i can only gather they are just off a blue eye at an 8ish. Can let you know by weeks end. Tonight its steak!
