Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone could suggest some good shore based snorkel spots, doesn't have to be spots to catch anything just spots to see cool stuff are fine by me!! Whacked the goggles and snorkel on a couple times when at south beach and snorkelled round the groynes more fish there then I thought and got me keen to do some more. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

What about the shipwreck of coogee? I havent done it but would. You could tour the moorings at mangles bay or go the other side and check Spences occy spots...;0
For the adventrous, the south wall of Penguin Island is pretty cool. Point Peron another cracker. Out to the end and west. Tones' boys know that stretch pretty well I hear. Drifting through the east freo marina is not allowed but worth a look. There is a bbq area there and sandy beach and easy enough to 'drift' into aquarama. The bream are Hooooge around there. Point Walter drop off from the spit has plenty to see too. Need to be a strong swimmer there sometimes. Suss these spots out in the daylight then hit em at night for more of a buzz.

under the old mandurah traffic bridge and woodies point for salvage dives. use to do it all the time. really anywhere where lots of people go is generally good for a salvage dive. Blackwater reach to get a feed of mussels an bream and the odd pair of sunnies and money. in between cott and leighton beach not to bad either with a gidgee. use to pick up some decent cobbler from there.

Boy in a boat reef is great. If you go to the break wall at hillarys it is about 50m fin to the reef. There is a little trail with plaques n'all. Awesome stuff. Also places like methams pool or those little reefs north close to the beach.

North side of Penguin Island is a winner with some great swim throughs, holes and caves. Another + 1 for Point Peron too. Pretty sure LEighton to Cott is part of the protection zone, so you won't be able to use a gidgee there if I'm correct. The locals are pretty protective and keep an eye on things down there.
