As most of you guys know i'v been having a few issues with getting sea sick, since moving to WA and not spending any were as much time on the water as i used to back in Victoria i'v taken kwells - travel clam - trip ezz and find that i don't get all out sick as such just get abit of an upset stomach, enough to stop me fishing but not enough to be hanging over the sides spewing my guts out all day, the biggest problem i have is the drunk/sleepy effect, Spence and Wookiee know what im taking about, i fell asleep while sitting up and motoring along when we were out in JB, but one thing i did learn from the trip was how much ginger nut biscuits sorted me out after eating half a pack of wookiees biscuits, i pulled it together long enough to catch at lest one fish for the day out on the water, Spence sent me a link to a mythbusters video on sea sickness, and they proved that ginger worked best by far, So iv been hunting around looking for high dose ginger that i can take other then eating strait ginger, so i think i have found the gold at the end of the rainbow, now to try it out next time i'm on the water, what do you guys think ? have you got any other ways you deal with sea sickness ? |

I use the arm bands with the points on them, go on your wrists and if you start feeling queezy you push down on the points, but I think a lot of it is the mental side of things, never been sick using them since though!!! ginger beer goes down well to. |

Ginger all the way nik. I dont get sea sick often. only really on a high sea with close chop. but ginger will take that away quick smart. Ginger beer and ginger nut bikkies are my staple if i think there is even a chance im going to get sick. health food stores also will be able to point you to a high ginger content vitamin or go to the asian deli and get their ginger candy/preserves. thats very good stuff also. |

I'm with boots on this one, i think its more of a mental thing. Thinking about it brings on anxiety, anxiety brings on that sick feeling....then its all down hill very fast. Also its the misalignment of the inner ear and your vision. So looking at a stable object (i.e. Land/Horizon) assists your inner ear rocking to align with the visual rocking. |

I use to always get sea sick. Nothing ever worked for me, tried everything inc 1 ear plug trick( I used bread at the time as it was the only thing other than bait) I bought my own boat and got me sea legs. I don't think I'm 100% cured but I'm out and about. I do feel funny oh high chop, a stinky diesel sometimes but people smoking can make me funny I did speak with a charter boat up north and he recommended an anti nausea spray or tablets for people on chemo |

Go to your doctor and get some real anti emetics instead of over the counter chemist shizenhuasen Ask your doctor for some metoclopramide. It works really well |

slam down half a dozen alcoholic ginger beers and then you will sway just like the boat and your sea sickness will go away. win win situation |
