Snow makes you spend...

Thankfully this UK snow is just about thawed so I can get out and catch some bloody fish again, but having not been able to lately I've done a bit of searching and stocking up lately.
If your into fly fishing, the bargains you can find over here will blow your mind hey!
Anyway, wanted an antique fly reel to bang on my recent split-cane flyrod purchase. After hitting a heap of antique shops and a couple swapmeet's, I found the one I wanted and made the purchase...an old brass dealy that set me back a whole $10. I'll throw up a pic or two of the outfit now.
While looking for that, happened to find a lot of other gear that was hard to pass up...luckily I only bought a few things, but damn it was hard walking away! Scored a brand new flyreel, a 7# BMP? (British made, metal frame n spool, smooth reel..) loaded with new Scientific Angler WF7F line and reel pouch for $8...a box of used fly's (57, wet n drys, some crackin flys in there) for $2, a brand new fly vest with tons of pockets (zipped, press stud and velcro) for $17, some waterproof winter boots (just below knee height, non slip, designed for fishing thru rain or snow) for $11, camo waterproof snow jacket and trousers, new Airflo 40+ flylines for $12+$15 (got 2), small 2nd hand army backpack for $5...I think that's it...?!
If any feather chuckers need anything, seriously drop me a line hey, can get STUPIDLY cheap prices on all brands (Hardy, Grey's, Orvis etc.) and on everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! Closing down sales galore over here, competing to sell you stuff dirt cheap...crazy.

Being an occasional fly fisherman myself, that is some crazy cheap gear. Hopefully you can get out and use some of it.

Youre going to have a forearm like popeye using that reel on a single handed rod.
They say "the early bird gets the worm"... Not a problem, worms all yours birdy. I'll get up around noon and fish a dry fly - Hank Patterson

Only been using the reel as a line storage device to be honest K1W1...pull off my required amount of line, play the fish by hand, letting line slip between fingers and gaining line back by hand rather than reel...probably not how you do it but seems to work so far...see how it goes on a big fish tho!
It looks way heavier than it is.
