I have thursday off next week and its shaping up to be lovely weather. Anything short of dying family and i'll be at ASI for dawn.
Heard over the last few days that there were pinkies caught off Nth Mole too.

Anyone who is free and up for a LB soaking send on a PM.

Cheers
Wook.

Now there's a bloke who knows his stuff...
You do realize tho that even if you land 10 pinkys you'll still be considered 'stuck in the dark ages' right? Don't suppose that would bother you too much while your feasting on fillets and looking again at your pinky pics though!
Get into em Wookness, good luck big fella.

Sorry for the late reply, its been a S**tty day ;)

Well i got there for 4am and was in the water by 430ish. Had a rod out on the calm side and a rod on the sheltered side and was using mulies and offcuts for burley. Sheltered side bait was smashed by pickers and stormy side was absolutely untouched which was strange.
Had a 2m+ shark cruising up and down on the sheltered side and finally hooked him up at about 8am. He took half my spool on the btr4500 before he finally bit through. was way under gunned for that battle.

Only had one hit on the alvey which i saw happen. rod bent over, reel screamed briefly and that was it. I let it soak for a few more mins and presumed my bait was gone. wound in my herring to find a big bite out of the back of it (pic). how the F**ker missed the back hook i just don't know, the bite was right on the hook.

It was wet and bloody windy but very pleasant. Rain squalls were heavy but brief. Id be out there again tomorrow morning if it wasn't the wife's birthday ;)

Ive heard from a few guys and seen some posts around that North mole again was the place to be. Have heard of catches at woodies jetty but no photos so its only a rumour. I guess they didnt come into the sound in big numbers which is strange. i honestly thought i was coming home with one in the bag. All indications were for the win. Now i know how dockers fans feel i guess.

pic is of the missed hit. 28cm herring as bait.

Odd run there wookiee....no crushed head, so money's not on a snapper. But unlucky not to hook up and find out!.

Anyone else hit up the swells? I was on a plane in from overseas, so missed all the fun this storm.

Good effort anyway Wookie, reckon you deserve the honours. Kick off the sticky thread "Storm Fishing".
Now where is Boofhead? Get him on here!

Boofhead doesn't pick up a rod much anymore Hixy, it's all about capturing things on a camera these days.
On saying that we were discussing hitting a local spot together chasing some pinks in the next storm. That's if he's not out there chasing it with his camera at the time.

On the way out to my fishing spot i sounded over something big 5m under the hull, must admit I was being a bit nervous.
Spent the morning in the yak sneaking around the place trying to sound out snapper and drop plastics on their heads.
Lost the best fish of the day just under the surface after pulling the hook on it, spewing i dont have a big of a big pinkie to share.
