I thought my office window looking out over the water would be great. Just shows me how many good days are wasted working.

Hit the water about 6 pm Friday night with my brother in-law in his boat 6.1m Trailcraft. Big boat big fish to come we thought. Headed out to one of my secret spots, and just before it the sounder lit up with fish. This will do we thought, so we anchored and started the berley trail going and lines went down. After a while the S**t fish came on the bite, Port Jacksons galore, Rays, Fiddlers, Nor West Blowies etc, etc. Anyway we thought we'd move to another of my spots, so went to get the anchor up. Its an electric winch, well it stuffed up and wouldn't work. Now my brother in-law has to have one of the biggest heaviest anchor going, too heavy for me with a bung shoulder and he's got a few health problems after a couple of strokes and a heart attack previously. So we decided just to stay in this spot till morning. Well it ended up a waste of time with just more of the same except for one Hammerhead for my brother in-law. Also had one screamer of a run on a huge Snook bait under a balloon. It failed to hook up due to biting over the top of 2 metres of wire trace. In the morning the brother in-law pulled the anchor in slowly taking his time and we headed back in worn out tired and stuff all fish. Weather wise it was pretty calm except for a big swell to start with but by early morning a bit of a beeze came up, a bit more than forecast and made it hard to try and get a snooze as it was rocking around quite a bit. So there it is, that was our report for this weekend.

I hit the D9 Friday night and had D*ckheads anchoring all over me.
3 big runs all busted off because of people too close (You can stop laughing now Mr Dulson).
First time I'd fish the sound in 3 years since letting my CPC lapse.
Might be another 3 years before I got back.

Haha that's the D9 for ya, I try and find other spots in the Sound and there are many. Most of my Sound Snapper have been at other locations. I called up on channel 94 around 6pm to see if any Westfish crew were out but got no replies so headed out into the wide blue yonder.Wish I'd taken my own boat though.... The results might have been better.

At least you managed to get out. It was my father in laws birthday so we headed out to their farm near Bremer for the weekend.
After being told they have never caught any decent fish from Bremer, along with it being fished out etc i decided not to pack any fishing gear. Shot into Bremer Saturday avo where the sun was shining, the wind was at our backs, the sea was dead flat, heaps of very fishy looking water and a heap of birds getting into something about 150m offshore.... Needless to say i was pretty pi&&ed off about it all haha.

It looks pretty good for launching the tinny there, fairly firm beach and calm enough.

Beach was rock hard, didn't even need 4x4.
Looks like great squid and kg ground just off shore. Along with a rocky island a bit to the right of the photo. I was spewing about not taking the tinny, even the mrs said i should've brought it along
