Gday fellow fishos, It has been a bloody long time between drinks for me. Working away on a 4n1 really is crap besides the coin. When I get back on my week off (and this will be nothing new for other fifo workers) there is no time for fishing after catching up with the missus and tin lids. Then theres your mates, gardening, and trying to fish. I generally get 1 day that is put aside for fishing and that comes pre planned so the weather is normally not in my favour.

I just took 3 weeks off to go to Fiji with the 2 boys and marry my beautiful Candice, finally after 8yrs together. A few things were learnt on this trip, 10 days. Never travel 3 flights in 1 day with kids, 6yr old cant equalise ears and 2 yr old running amok! Honestly I wanna swear my head off just thinking about. I was gonna kick the emergency door out and jump! Other than that we experienced a magical wedding by firstly 2 days before participating in ceremony by asking the chief of the village for using their waterfall. This included drinking Kava with the chief. Then the wedding itself, married by the waterfall, my wife walked down by Fijian warriors, the resort had a Meke ( Fijian ceremony telling stories while dancing and singing) and we were the guests of honour, then finished with an absolute feast on our own in a rain forest during the evening.

So now I have a day off, sunday, for a fish and would like to know if the bream flathead and flounder are down stream. Any advice would be great and PMs are welcome.

Thanks and I hope you like the story and pics, taken by our 6 yr old, Zack.

Congrats chilli! Appears Fiji is the place for weddings. Any other friends or family go with you? Or you have a 2nd wedding in Oz?.
Sounds like memories for life!
Isn't there good fishing in Fiji? ;)

3 flights with 2 kids I can understand.
I catch 4 flights in 1 day every week and everything gets to me, let alone kids.

Good to hear from you Chiiliman, I was wondering why you'd been quiet for a while.
Congrats Mate.
Flatties have gone quiet but the bream are still around. Not much on the flats but the usual structures will be holding fish. Recent rain has helped to quiet down the blowies.

Cheers all, unfortunately I never got to get out fishing. Turns out there was only 1 charter operating on the island when I was there so I missed out. All good, just means I have 1 left up my sleave.
