The ban is on till the 31st of August. Might want to choose from below. Freshwater angling waters open all year •Big Brook Dam •Blackwood River •Donnelly River •Glen Mervyn Dam •Logue Brook Dam •Murray River •Serpentine River (between the Serpentine Pipe-Head Dam and Serpentine Falls only) •Warren River •Wellington Dam |

Logue brook is my childhood haunt. Big trout still in there, but they don't stock anymore. Only rainbows. No reds or browns. Before sunrise I've always done best up at feeders in the calm water. They'll be hanging around there for breeding and in the feeders. |

No Redfin, no idea why, someone here might know. They've just never been introduced I guess and brooks are isolated. Seen lots of trout come from there between 4-6lb. Last time I went, had a 5-6lb eye ball me in the shallows. They're smart there rob, not like the other heavy introduced dams |

Logue brook is earmarked for 10,000 rainbows to be released this year, and 20,000 for the dam |

Haven't seen the latest figures for stocking 2013, but thats good sign for people closer to perth. It's been neglected for past 10 years or so. Used to go there as a child and get my 4 trout no problem overnight and go home a happy fisher. Are they just Fry though Kiwi or are they stocking yearlings or ex brood stock? Water levels are that low there now, i don't know why they are bothering to be honest. Best stocking the fuller dams and rivers. Must be from public voice perhaps? |

Very true Kiwi........ mostly i find there they larger models feed on the yabbies/marron and have awesome colour as a result. Flesh is pink as and cheeks are a very vivid red. Smaller models tend to feed on insects. I generally use river prawns if using bait there or rainbow trout imitation rapalas and do well. having said that, i haven't fished there in a while. I wouldn't mind having a look if i got bored, problem is i prefer to hit the ocean these days. Might hit it up come demersal closure. |

Keep the 7/8th open and I'll put something up closer to the date. We can make it an open Freshwater event with prizes for pics posted from those dates. People can organise there own hunting parties and sort any side bets should they wish. Spence will be handicapped as usual and Goodie may be banned from entering to give the rest and shot at it. |
