Phone reception

As with all modern technology. ( it doesn't work ), the old phone reception around my house is really crap and I must say I don't live out in the sticks but in Forrestfield.

I'm currently with Telstra as they provide the best reception for me. Best reception with Telstra is one bar, maybe two, three bar is a rare thing with your tongue hanging to the left while balancing on your right foot.

A couple weeks back I bought one of these. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281110200420?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Only $94. So I thought what the hell. It arrived today, so up it went.

I must say, was switched on for a few mins and now my Telstra phone and the wife's Telstra phone is bouncing around the 4 to 5 bar range, more so on the 5 bars. My Optus phone still only just has reception.

The Telstra 3G is running of 850 MHz, not sure about optus

Must say that I'm happy with the results

Not bad.
I had heaps of trouble at my old place but ok where I'm at now.
Old place was a villa and all the walls close together kill the signal.

I believe Telstra provide a similar thing, however its no where near as cheap as that. I think they're about $500 or so.

Nice fix that!. I have seen this before and there is a whole range of grey imports - CDMA and GSM - for signal boosters.
"Grey" as in not strictly Austel approved, but as Scotty says the Telstra approved twin channel one is $500 and no one here is bothered... ;)
