The orange material is lumo, the green is just flash. Hopefully Monday will good weatherwise. They are piece of piss to tie up, happy to show anyone the basics. Beats paying $15 for the store bought ones. |

Stop eating crap AC- you're getting too fat! Good effort on the flasher rigs though- they are easy to make but I like many are too lazy to knock them up. You just need a fly vice & a bobbin holder or a bench vice & a pair of multigrips (& a bobbin holder). They do well for tailor rigs too from the beach. |

Certainly part of it Numbskull, but for me its more quality control of the rigs. You spend a lot of money on fuel chasing these fish and I'm unwilling to to use store bought stuff at the point end. At least I know the swivel and hooks are are the best, the leader is fresh and the knots are tied well. Second day in the water: |

where do you buy the material to make the skirting for the hooks ? had a look on a few fly fishing websites but they didn't really have the right looking stuff as far as i could tell. |

Keep an eye on the bargain bins when you go into tackle shops, anglers annon in canning vale often gets rid of materials this way. One of the pest online flyshops in australia if not the world is here in Perth. You want something thats quite stiff but not as stiff as broome bristles. http://www.flyworld.com.au/view/208/query/start/21/count/61 http://www.flyworld.com.au/view/20070521211230/ |

My brother who is a wigmaker advises me that party wig hair is basically the same as sparkle flash & it sells for about $2 for a whole bag which is about as much as 5 bags of flytying materials. Ordering is a bit compicated though. |
