Committee: Health and Human Services Subject: Resource Shortages Proposed by: Taiwan The General Assembly, 1) Fully aware that water is vital for further socioeconomic developments, 2) Noting with deep concern that the rocketing population growths and 3) advancements all around the world demands for more water, intensifying the 4) pressure on water resources, 5) Emphasizing that conflicts will not arise from only among the consumers of water 6) but also from the environment, 7) Noting further that when there is not enough clean water to use, low quality water 8) is used in its place, inducing unsanitary issues, 9) Bearing in mind that water scarcity means less water for growing crops and 10) sustaining the animals from which we derive our meat and dairy produce, 11) prompting starvation, 12) Recognizing that water scarcity is a problem of poverty; water is a matter of life 13) and livelihood, 14) Realizing that all countries—developed and developing countries—are facing the 15) challenges of water scarcity, 16) Having examined the plans and progress made by The Water Project, Food and 17) Agriculture Organization, and United Nations Environment Programme, 18) 1. Calls for a collaboration between the nations to provide more effective ways 19) to utilize water resources; 20) 2. Draws attention to the need for the construction of wells, dams and sewage 21) systems, implement surface water filtration technologies, and maintain proper 22) sanitation and hygiene practices; 23) 3. Endorses training, expertise, and financial support for non-governmental 24) organizations that can provide access to clean water and ensure the water 25) maintenance over time; 26) 4. Encourages the industrialized countries to increase efforts to reduce the 27) industrial and technological gap between themselves and the developing 28) countries; 29) 5. Recommends adequate policies and measures to be adopted for social 30) progress and advancements of production, science, and technology; 31) 6. Invites the nations to incorporate a coordinated approach to their 32) development planning as to guarantee compatibility with the needs to protect 33) and improve the well-being of the populations and the environment. |

PASS Good job with the specifics. Only recommendation is to include how to get the UN involved with a specific program, committee, etc. |
