Delegate: Anna Liu Committee: Health & Human Services Subject: Medical Infrastructures Proposed by: Taiwan THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, 1) Aware of the fact that poor medical infrastructures is an international issue, 2) Noting further that there has been a rise in autoimmune diseases in areas of poverty 3) Recalling that the World Health Organization (WHO) had significant success in 4) distributing medical materials and equipment, but the medical aids couldn’t be utilized to 5) their greatest efficiency because of the inadequate medical infrastructures, 6) Recognizing that developing countries need a stronger medical infrastructure, as well as 7) some developed countries, 8) Alarmed by the percentage of medical workers (doctors, nurses, etc.) and medical related 9) buildings in developing countries compared to developed countries, 10) Taking note that the lack of local health services results in a shortage of doctors, 11) healthcare workers, and researchers, 12) Fully aware of the fact that many developing countries cannot improve or create anything 13) medical related such as research labs, devices, medicine, etc, 14) 1. Encourages the idea of focusing on developing countries instead of all the countries 15) that are struggling with their medical infrastructures, not only would this be a direct 16) impact, it would be more efficient and quicker; 17) 2. Recommends that at least 1% of countries’ GDP will be placed into their health care 18) funds; 19) 3. Urges neighboring countries should give at least .5% of their GDP to the developing 20) countries until the percentage of medical infrastructures rises by 5%; 21) 4. Further reminds health care workers are usually concentrated in urban areas and 22) should be evenly distributed throughout the countries, especially in rural areas; 23) 5. Designates educated medical workers should be transferred into developing countries 24) to teach/train communities about medical equipment and illnesses; 25) 6. Requests that health classes is mandatory for students in all schools in every country. |
