Name: Sneha Shah
Committee: Health and Human Services
Subject: Education in Areas of Conflict
Proposed By: Taiwan (ROC)
The General Assembly:

1) Aware of the fact that medical infrastructure in areas of conflict
2) is damaged or nonexistent,

3) Alarmed that the mortality rate in developing countries is known to be
4) as high as 174,

5) Realizing the many actions taken to change the medical infrastructure
6) of developing countries by organizations such as World Health
7) Organization (WHO), International Medical Corps (IMC), and others,

8) Bearing in mind that although these programs have helped, much
9) aid fails to reach full efficiency due to damaged infrastructure

10) Noting with regret of the fact that the United Nations (UN) has
11) largely neglected to bring infrastructure issues to light,

12) Understanding that in many developing nations, stagnant economies
13) and frequent conflicts lead to impaired medical infrastructure,
14) preventing the reach of urgent medical care to populations,

15) Encourages the idea of donating medical supplies and financial aid
16) to nations in need to provide medical assistance;

17) Acknowledges the efforts made to establish and strengthen medical
18) infrastructures worldwide;

19) Calls for the United Nations and countries within to dedicate more
20) time and effort towards this issue;

21) Further invites other countries to actively participate in assisting
22) creation of a viable infrastructure for countries in need;

23) Expresses its hope that the UN will work to solve this underrepresented
24) yet pressing issue and that medical aid will not continue to be undermined.
