The General Assembly,

1) Aware of ethnic cleansing and/or genocide becoming a
2)larger issue in multiple countries (generally it is in developing
3)countries),

4) Taking note that countries that are still developing are
5) susceptible to ethnic and religious tensions because of the
6) lack of law enforcement or placement,

7) Recognizing that the minority is generally the group being
8) persecuted,

9) Recalling the definition of genocide and how to identify
10) genocide set in the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and
11) Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and that swift actions
12) must be taken,

13) Guided by Secretary-General Kofi Annan’s five point plan of
14) action regarding the prevention of genocide,

15) Cognizant of the fact that discrimination is being taught to
16) newer generations with no restriction of the law (in developing
17)countries),

18) Understanding that terrorist groups are often affiliated with
19) ethnic and religious persecution and often target third world
20) nations,

21) 1. Supports new education or re-education for citizens of developing
22) countries;

23) 2. Prioritizes ethnic and religious persecution and labels it as a major
24) global issue;

25) 3. Regulates the amount of weapons located in areas with high
26) concentration of ethno-religious persecution;

27) 4. Urges the UN to encourage countries to promote freedom of
28) belief/religion;

29) 5. Calls upon the UN to combat terrorist groups to stop the spreading
30) of ethnic cleansing;

31) 6. Recommends nations to invest more in military forces that are
32) professionally trained, disciplined and capable of countering sectarian
33) violence.
