Name: Timothy Lin Committee: Global Security Subject: Drone Warfare Proposed By: Taiwan (ROC) ID# 283598 The General Assembly: 1) Recognizing the increase of drones, unmanned aviation, and increase in cyber attacks, 2) Aware of the good and bad drones bring to the arsenal, toolbox, and camera lens, 3) Noting the recent mishaps with drones and America, a large portion of the UN 4) Bearing the knowledge that better technology leads to a change in the way people use them, 5) and in return a change in the way the UN has to combat them, 6) Alarmed at the increase of drone access to any consumer, especially photographers, aircraft 7) enthusiasts, terrorists and the general population, 8) Taking into consideration countries using drones for promotion, propaganda, spying while 9) terrorist groups attempt drug trade with drones 10) Recalling previous invasions of privacy, due to spying, aerial devices, and private voyeurs, 11) Guided by recent FAA regulations for drones by prohibiting use in public areas, applying 12) use of drones as a method of “flying”, and therefore further requires others. 13) 1. Approves of countries creating laws and enforcement toward drone and unmanned 14) airfare, 15) 2. Calls out companies of drone makers to make harsher checks on either the customers 16) they serve or the drones themselves, 17) 3. Urges changes toward drones, as the problem begins to increase and become worse 18) 4. Trusts that the general populace doesn't resort to abstract services, such as wireless 20) disablers, counter-drone technology, and others 21) 5. Supports the positive use of drones, like photography, filmmaking, and tourism, 22) 6. Promotes drone use for proper surveillance, and for the global security for countries 23) without strong technology 24) 7. Trusts that those with drone technology are those with good intentions, and to not try and 25) undermine those without this tech, 26) 8.
