Not sure if I'm posting in the right area or not, but here goes.

I saw recently on yahoogroups that there is a Doctor Who Convention in Chicago in November.

Has anyone ever been to this before? If so, what did you think?

Thanks in advance!

I would go if there were several of us going. It is pretty central to many of us.

MG and I talk about it every year it seems, but never make it. Mostly we lament that Tom will never be there, but yes, if a group of irregulars from here could make it, that would be awesome!

If I can get a cheap enough flight, I just might be willing to go.

I'd consider driving at an earlier time of year, but the weather get a little dicey from the middle of November on; so flying is the least traumatic method of travel in late November.

The problem for me is that it usually falls during the Thanksgiving holiday, and that is the big wombat family holiday, with celebrations and activties lasting all weekend. I'd love to see and/or meet up, but they come first...

Thanks to all for your thoughts.

We will have to see what happens from our end.

We have a chance to attend a Star Trek con (am I allowed to say that here?) in July near our home. ;)

There was a recent Star Trek con where we are and they actually had some Dr. Who related workshops that I know my dd and I wanted to attend.

But we were thinking of perhaps skipping that in favor of going to the Chicago Dr. Who one as we are more interested in that one.

I will have to investigate the Chicago con more in depth.

I'm sorry we are not in the UK so we could get to more Dr. Who related events.

Thanks again, everyone! :dochat:

I would love to go but I'm afraid Doctor Partner would really be a fish out of water as he has very little sense of humor regarding Doctor Who. Plus with 3 large dogs and one small pusscat it is near impossible to go anywhere.

If anyone does make it, we always say....check the batteries, check the flashbulbs, make sure there's film and don't forget the camera!
